It was quite the opposite.
Late Stage Capitalism
A place for for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited.

4 No imperialism, conservatism, reactionism or Zionism, lessor evil rhetoric. Dismissing 3rd party votes or 'wasted votes on 3rd party' is lessor evil rhetoric.
5 No bigotry, no racism, sexism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any type of prejudice.
6 Be civil in comments and no accusations of being a bot, 'paid by Putin,' Tankie, etc. This includes instance shaming.

it's almost as if systems are tools that can be used for good or for evil, and have been invented to deal with certain problems, and can cause others of their own making, necessitating new tools to replace them and fix the problems they created.
And qute true - except food and housing - all did happen in easte european socialism, maybe evenmore. For food and housing, very very basics were provided by some govs, but none could have more, no matter one tried, all was stolen by gov and The Party.
Both systems are very fragile to corruption, socialism probably even more, coz peoples are peoples. By pure definition, both systems are (could be) awesome.
