Seriously, I wanted to open a PR to add myself to the list, but the fucker took the repo offline because he couldn't handle the backlash. Wussy.

the list for anyone wondering

Just know that everyone on that list is a violent extremist including me

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 12 points 1 hour ago (7 children)

I don't get it. Is this some personal vendetta the dev has? Have they really been in this many internet arguments? Where did this list come about and why?

Hey, thanks. I had heard about the list but didn't know where to find it. Turns out I'm on it, too. Badge of honor.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 1 points 27 minutes ago

Same. I even got a whole ass regex.

I have no idea what tesseract is and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask.

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 2 points 24 minutes ago

You can check it out from your own instance by going to https://t.lemmy.world/ (that might be an older version though? at one point Tesseract development was frozen but then it later resumed).

Your instance sidebar also mentions several other alternative UIs:

https://a.lemmy.world/ - Alexandrite UI
https://photon.lemmy.world/ - Photon UI
https://m.lemmy.world/ - Voyager mobile UI
https://old.lemmy.world/ - A familiar UI
https://blorp.lemmy.world/ - Blorp UI

It's a front end layout that makes for fancy visual customization of lemmy.

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 1 points 15 minutes ago

[–] swooper@lemmy.world 11 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago) (2 children)

I would like to submit my application.

Fuck the establishment, down with tesseract and its shitty dev, roll some heads for peace.

xxx swooper

Welp, you've definitely made my list <3

It took me way too long to figure out that this isnt about the band TesseracT and I was very confused, but now relieved.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 27 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Everyone knows what this means but nobody knows what it's from.

[–] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 10 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Is that a movie or something?

I never watched more than a few episodes of Frasier, but I remember a commercial for an episode of it - one I unsuccessfully tried to find online just now. I shall paraphrase:

Niles(?): "What perfume is that?"

Unknown woman: "It's 'Obsession.'"

Niles: "No, it's not, I was just curious, really."

I hope you have enjoyed this flawed reenactment.

I know what it's from and I can't stop thinking about it.

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 5 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

I still haven't seen the movie, but I've seen a synopsis of the movie.

I am so disappointed.

But I'm hopeful.

Because what I really want to see is part two of this movie where a random group of like a hundred people get one and they know it will grant one wish and what wishes they make and what the consequences of a hundred random people across the world having a single wish granted all at the same time or within like the same few weeks.

Mothers grieving over their dead children who wished to be able to fly, but never thought about landing.

Competition from 10 or 15 people who wish to be the richest person in the world one after the other and having their wish granted only to be killed a day later by the next person who wishes to be the richest person in the world and having all of their riches transferred to that person.

People wishing for magic and being haunted by demons.

People wishing that their lost loved ones would come back to life and having the undead rise.

There is so much potential in this concept if I just hope somebody has the balls to actually reach out and go for it because it would be such a good movie.

You’re looking for Bruce Almighty.

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

But as a thriller slash horror movie, not as a comedy.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 49 minutes ago (1 children)

I still haven’t seen the movie, but I’ve seen a synopsis of the movie.

So, I feel like they leaned a bit hard on jump-scares to deliver the horror element. But the Wishing Willow is really just a vehicle for the plot, it's not important to the plot. The story is about male loneliness and youthful impatience and not being able to see past your own unhappiness to recognize the importance of other people.

And it's also about Inde Navarrette hitting it out of the fucking park with her acting.

Don't get hung up on the magical realism of the MacGuffin that kicks off the movie's 2nd Act. If you enjoy a good popcorn horror/thriller and don't mind a film that's liberal with its gross-out material, it's a stellar film.

[–] Labotomized@lemmy.world 3 points 23 minutes ago

Adding to this: the lighting work was fantastic. Lots of darkness and silhouettes really added to the creepiness.

[–] Buage_@piefed.social 1 points 38 minutes ago

I am not in the list

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 13 points 2 hours ago (3 children)

Yeah, how do I get on that list? Seems like the hot list right now.

Is there like, a website, or a form? Do I need to fail an IQ test? You know, like cops can't score greater than 80 on an IQ test.

The shibboleth is as follows:

Death to Moe!

Abolish guillotines.

Yuri, perchance?

Post this exactly at midnight, three days in a row, at the appointed place.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 12 points 2 hours ago

You can't just say perchance

Love how people turned fact of being banned in an achievement. For some reason this doesn't happen for communities.

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

I'm proudly banned from ml.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 1 points 25 minutes ago

How does one go about checking that?
