We do technically use Ø for empty sets or as diameter in mathematics, and diacriticals are technically allowed in English but we really only use them to describe phonetics.
I could have sworn it had use in either spherical or polar coordinate systems but I guess I was misremembering.
We need to start with &. It wasn't that long ago that it got removed.
I already use the former to describe the sound unambiguously.
Also, we need ɨ.
