Before the war, my dream was simple: to continue my education, build a future, and support my parents, my brother, and my sister. Like millions of young people around the world, I believed that hard work could change my life.

Then the war came, and everything changed.

For nearly three years, my family and I have been living in a displacement camp. Every day is a struggle just to survive.

The summer heat inside the tents is unbearable. During the day, the tent becomes like an oven, making it almost impossible to sleep or even breathe comfortably.

One of the hardest parts of our daily life is simply getting water. We walk long distances carrying heavy buckets because clean water is scarce. Every liter is precious, and we never know if there will be enough for drinking, cooking, or washing.

Food has become another daily concern. Many days we survive on very simple meals because basic necessities are difficult to find and far too expensive. Life has become a constant search for the essentials that many people take for granted.

The war has also taken a heavy toll on our health. Medical care is extremely limited, medicines are often unavailable, and even common illnesses become frightening because treatment is so difficult to obtain. We have been exhausted physically and emotionally by years of uncertainty.

Despite everything, I refuse to give up.

I have been nominated for admission in Cairo so I can continue my education, and I have also received an acceptance from the University of Glasgow, which represents a dream I have carried for years—to study in Europe, gain knowledge, and one day build a better future for my family.

Unfortunately, these opportunities require financial resources that my family simply cannot afford after everything we have lost.

The tuition fees at the University of Glasgow are £33,000, far beyond anything I could ever pay under these circumstances.

In addition, I need approximately €7,500 to cover my entry fees in Cairo, study materials, and the essential costs of starting my education again.

I am not asking for luxury.

I am asking for a chance.

A chance to study.

A chance to rebuild my life.

A chance to help my parents after everything they have endured.

A chance to give my younger brother and sister hope that our future can still be different.

To every compassionate person reading this, I want to say:

You are our only hope.

To the people of Europe and the Western world, you have shown kindness to countless families in difficult times. Today, I ask you to stand with mine as well.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to safety, education, and dignity. Even if you cannot donate, sharing my story could help it reach someone who can.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

From my father, my mother, my brother, my sister, and from me…

Thank you for giving us hope when hope feels so far away.

With gratitude,

Soliman
