Inspired by the opposite question posted recently, what YouTube creators have you watched for a long time and still find worth returning to? Alternatively, what are some new high quality channels you have been enjoying?

I haven't watched him in a couple years now, but BKXC was my favorite channel during COVID and the year or so afterwards.

I keep coming back to Liberace singing "Feelin' Groovy" with a bunch of loudly dressed dancers. Mesmerizing.

Oddity Archive. The dude has been going for 15 years and the videos haven't really changed at all. It feels like YouTube did before becoming something people could make a living off of. I don't really know how he finds time/money to do it without sponsors and less than 100k subscribers, but the dedication is admirable.

These are the creators whom I still watch most of their videos; otherwise, I mostly don't actually really use YouTube much anymore. I pay premium for my extended family to all use it without ads lol

No, I'm not going to try and teach my mum how to use Vanced or whatever is popular now. I used to ask for a bit of cash from each of them, but you know how that tends to go.

I've got a soft spot for Minty Comedic Arts. Been watching his videos for years. He's silly and loves movies, so I feel a kinship. Plus, he's a small YT producer and I love supporting him

Good Mythical Morning is the oldest, longest running thing on YouTube I still watch. I was watching them before they were even on YouTube.

8-but guy. Every video is a fucking banger.

[–] BiteSizedZeitGeist@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

There was the one debacle where he accidentally destroyed a vintage, rare IBM by shorting the power supply. I've also heard he's a 2A nut who likes bringing his open-carry AR-15 to Costco to see people's reactions.

I also find his videos unfulfilling - they don't quite get deep enough, like Ben Eater or Displaced Gamers, for my taste.

[–] iconic_admin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Hang on, the 8-bit guy is an open carry guy? He walks around Costco with a rifle? That’s news to me.

There are a handful of channels that I actively make an effort to watch as soon as they drop a video. In no particular order:

Folding Ideas Zoe Bee Mia Mulder Dime Store Adventures Dr. Geoff Lindsey Bart Ehrman Innuendo Studios Jenny Nicholson

[–] Skanky@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

My absolute favorite lately, "Ordinary Sausage". Dude just makes sausages from various (and sometimes highly questionable) ingredients.

As far as "old school" goes, is LA Beast still making videos?

I still enjoy Internet Comment Etiquette - the only channel that has sponsored ads that I don't skip.
