I definitely agree with the statement but I'm pretty sure this is an ad for Uniqlos shirts with built in bras.

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 5 points 12 hours ago

I was about to say, like, the coloring of the shirt made it look like she was wearing a bra, which made the messaging about going braless kind of seem... stupid?

[–] EldenLord@lemmy.world 40 points 18 hours ago

Why does she have a bra on then?

[–] funkajunk@lemmy.world 56 points 19 hours ago (5 children)

Not if you have massive jugs, that's tiny titty privilege.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 25 points 18 hours ago

It would be nice if the focus was on personal comfort over some ideological crusade.

Bras, head scarves, makeup, skirts versus pants, hair dye, hair length, heaven help you if you've got a position on cosmetic surgery... Everything's a fucking binary. Like, I get complaining about advertisement saturation and the endless suffocating waves of online influencing and even the social/family pressures to look or dress a certain way. But at some point its got to be about what each person feels comfortable with.

Not everything has to be a political position. It is enough to say you are self-determined.

Exactly. They don't get how much hotter it can be to be braless if you have huge titis

It's kind of a toss up for me. Pool of sweat or river in the middle? Flop-stick-bounce or support? Even antiperspirant there gets sticky.

[–] meekah@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago

I'm sure you still prefer having the choice though?

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 10 points 17 hours ago

I have those, and I still go braless.

The sweating is preferable to the bra, but I have issues with any clothing that's restrictive and well. Fucking hate bras.

yup, My fiance is a K cup. no way she wants them swinging about when she's out

[–] grue@lemmy.world 15 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

My fiance is a K cup.

Eww, how can you stand to be with someone that consumerist and wasteful? You should dump her for a French press. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

[–] PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk 6 points 15 hours ago

i just give em a jiggle and a squeeze and it makes me feel much better

[–] GingerGoodness@lemmy.world 7 points 18 hours ago

I had my reduction 10 years ago but I can still vividly remember the underboob sweat.

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 17 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Nothing against the message, but this is an ad. Should the weird cropping didn't give it away.

[–] Zwiebel@feddit.org 7 points 15 hours ago

In german, Qlo is pronounced like Klo which means toilet, while Uni is short for Universität just like in english. So they have these big red signs saying 'uni toilet' here in Germany.

I haven’t worn a bra in decades other than occasional for a nice outfit sort of stuff.

I don’t consider it self-care, I just don’t have boobs worth bra-ing up. Why waste the money for something that does nothing?

Self care is doing whatever makes you comfortable, not what other people say should make you more comfortable.

Lots of people, especially fem-presenting people, would be wildly uncomfortable with their nipples being visible through a tighter shirt, and you know what? That’s super understandable. People give me looks and comments not infrequently. It’s uncomfortable. That’s reasonable. I’ve stopped caring what small-minded people think so I’m over it, but it takes years to get comfortable with that. And that’s the opposite of self-care if it’s not something you already want to do.

@Melatonin

Don’t settle for braless. Go topless. We’ll… sorry, you’ll enjoy it.
