I never thought about it but there was probably a lot of meetings with people about logistics and what the pharaoh wants and needs for the afterlife. Construction managers, priests of Anubis, doctors, etc. Probably all had to meet relatively often.

The construction of the pyramids is (apparently) the oldest recorded occurrence of calibration where people had to get their cubit measuring sticks/rules verified on a regular basis. I forget but I think the cubit was defined of the length of the pharaoh's forearm (like elbow to ~~base of thumb~~ tip of middle finger)

As well, these projects sometimes literally took decades to complete. Lots of time for meetings to actually do larger project alignment and make sure everything is going more or less according to plan. As well, often the punishment for screwing things up from a recording standpoint would be like a finger, so diligence was the name of the game.
Part of the issue now is the product cycles are so short you barely have time to address all the facets of a problem before a larger one rears its head. We just aren't able to take the time to learn and teach people how to do things because the market is already fully developed.
