I found this site https://cyberopsec.com/ pretty helpful when I was getting my start. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned before, it's been around for quite a long time iirc.

Lesson 1: don't click on random links from strangers on the internet 😅

I would say a good way to start learning how to secure systems is to have a system to secure. Build a web server. Defend it from attackers. Fuck it up, start over.

Build a mail server. A DNS server. They'll get attacked. Watch how and learn how to deal with it.

If you use cloud services to do this (which is better than having a honeypot in your home network) make sure to set spending limits in your account!

Exactly this. Just DMZ a server. Open all the ports. Monitor the logs.

Open SSH on port 22 and the clankers will be knocking within hours.

Look up cyber security compliance programs companies might need. CMMC for example. Lots of topics to dive into.
