I opened the door to a shed and found this guy sitting in the middle of the floor. It's been a long time since I've seen one this big in the wild. My coworker said it was nice enough to be out in the open and not hiding somewhere I had to put my hands.

Long before I was born, before my mom met my dad, when my mom was in college, she dropped out and fled the US. She ended up in Europe and met a man named Colin, whom she then married and with whom she got pregnant, then moved to Greece.
While in Greece and pregnant, she did not have access to indoor plumbing. Instead, she used an outhouse. According to her, she once got up in the middle of the night to make use of the facilities, started to head outside without a light, then thought better of it and grabbed a light. When she did, she was glad she did so, because there was apparently a large, terrifying scorpion on the doorknob she would have used to exit the residence.
She did not disclose to me how she handled the situation.
