I tried to convince my friends and family to switch to Tox 10 years ago. Noone wanted to add contacts by adding public keys.

Shhh signal as ez as it gets
I completely ditched WhatsApp, I have more than 20 contacts on Signal including my parents (70+) and my work chat of 8 people. I live in Germany where people tend to be very privacy focused, but we are getting there!
Wish more in my circle would embrace Signal. iMessage and WhatsApp are the default messaging apps. Of the three, Signal is far better imo
data using any kind of phone number anywhere. i still dont understand how people who are living across the world from eachother do not make use of this software.
