Hilarious, good for them
What actually is that first image? It's gray, what food is gray?
Looks like some carrots, a hamburg steak (ground beef patty) and a piece of roast beef, like what Arby's and similar fast food places serves, where the beef just comes in a plastic bag with basting juices and you basically just steam/wet bake it. Not a whole lot of opportunity for maillard browning to happen in a wet cooking environment like that, and when you cook beef hard for a long period of time (a good way to make sure it's safe to eat), it ends up grey in color.
If the US ever tried to invade Canada, we could probably convince the soldiers to change sides with something as shitty as Tim Horton's.
We have it in some of our northern states and we are not impressed. You can do better than that.
I know we can. I'm saying our trash is better than your military's trash.
I find it crazy as hell that poutine isn't super common down here. Fries with cheese and gravy? That should be our national dish, damn it!
Wait untill you see what they eat in the field its even more luxorius!
It's really disgusting to think that politicians eat pretty well and the army who dies for them are eating this stuff while they are killing minors in the middle east
Maybe that's why you don't sign up for their murder squad.
hesgeth and the top brass, and his department had luxury dinners, lobsters, king krab, wine,,,,etc. and free expensive PIANOS.
In the royal Australian Navy, we got fed ridiculous amounts of potatoes au gratin, sans the gratin. It was like big trays of thin -ish sliced potatoes, drowned in white sauce, and walked past a tepid oven. The potato was still mostly raw. Thankfully nobody seemed to like the broccoli but me (because it was unsalted), so I'd get a mountain of broccoli and jazz it up with salt, pepper, and butter pads.
I think we got some kind of meat but for the life of me I can't remember any specific meat dish except an inedible beef stroganoff with a thin gravy made from what tasted like all the burnt bits scraped off all the other pans, blended in some dishwater. That thing would ruin your day.
The hardest part was only having about 30 minutes to eat, and that included standing in line, which meant you were calorie constrained by how much you could stuff in your mouth in the 10 minutes of sitting time.
They didn't like unsalted broccoli and couldn't work out how to sprinkle salt on it?
