This is why we need open source social media. You can't trust Big Tech.

I will completely agree with you, but add the context of Joel Kaplan.

Zuckerberg hired Kaplan in 2009, specifically to foster closer ties to conservatives. He became the head of US policy.

Kaplan was part of the Brooks Brothers riot that stole the 2000 election for Bush, and was rewarded with a Bush White House job for it.

He is good friends with Brett Kavenough and sat directly behind that rapist during confirmation hearings.

Kaplan also used his position at Facebook to exempt conservative propaganda from Facebook's truthfulness standards. He did this during the height of COVID.

He also made sure the algorithm focused on generating rage, because it focused on spreading "conservative" content. He personally ordered a rollback on the algorithm when staff tried to tone things down a hair.

Kaplan is now head of global policy, and Zuckerberg could not be happier with him.

Surely he exists in the real world, with like an address and favorite outdoor dining spots. These people are too comfortable in their evil lives of wealth.

Yup, that's why I like to name the people behind the the horrible shit, because a corporation needs to no longer be a shield for bad behavior. The corporation didn't do shit, the people running it did.

Pure mass control, sometimes subtle and sometimes overt, this time is the latter
