Welcome to the largest gaming community on Lemmy! Discussion for all kinds of games. Video games, tabletop games, card games etc.

Rules

1. Submissions have to be related to games

Video games, tabletop, or otherwise. Posts not related to games will be deleted.

This community is focused on games, of all kinds. Any news item or discussion should be related to gaming in some way.

2. No bigotry or harassment, be civil

No bigotry, hardline stance. Try not to get too heated when entering into a discussion or debate.

We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. If repeatedly violated, not only will the comment be deleted but a ban will be handed out as well. We judge each case individually.

3. No excessive self-promotion

Try to keep it to 10% self-promotion / 90% other stuff in your post history.

This is to prevent people from posting for the sole purpose of promoting their own website or social media account.

4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts

This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.

5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

6. No linking to piracy

Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.

We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Donald Trump's White House has launched Arcade.Gov, a site with mini-games where you catch and deport immigrants, or use Tetris blocks to build a border wall.

I know that this is potentially a spicy thing to post to this community, but I do think it is relevant to games and gaming. They are advertising it with using likenesses of major gaming brands.

Doing a game about a border wall using tetris, where every time you do a good row it disappears, is very MAGA coded, NGL...

Also, don't let this distract you that Trump has raped little kids.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 11 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

I’m confused as to how “MAGA”, a party political slogan, is allowed on a .gov domain. Seems like it should be illegal?

[–] shaztopher@lemmy.zip 9 points 6 days ago

You’re confused how our government is doing illegal things? Have you not been paying attention?

[–] Toasticus@piefed.social 10 points 6 days ago

I...um...this timeline has gotten worse in the worst possible way.

I'm at a loss for words.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

Your taxes paid for this

[–] VirtuePacket@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago

Deeply, deeply unserious.

That's what the US is now.

Where's the Leisure Suit Larry knockoff where it had the orange pedo raping kids?

[–] whereitsat@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 days ago

i'd have more respect for that site and the people behind it if they were launching emulators with the entire rom libraries and said to nintendo 'fuck off and sue me.'

shows how pussy they actually are when it comes down to it.

also, think about how people went to college/graduate school to code these games lol.

waste of life.

[–] lIlIlIlIlIlIl@lemmy.world 141 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You forgot to mention that it was made, built, shipped, sponsored by, and approved by pedophiles

Lots and lots of pedophiles

[–] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

OK why are there so many pedophiles? There's way more than I thought.

[–] lIlIlIlIlIlIl@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Because we didn’t drag them out into the street for justice as we found them - for whatever reason these morons started electing them

This is something straight out of a parody movie, and even then, it would sound absurd.

What the heck is even going on in the US right now.

[–] Insekticus@aussie.zone 38 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (16 children)

America is a fucking joke.

Those dumb cunts elected a clown whose destroyed the global world order as we know it, for the worse.

I hope they're proud that their leader not only rapes children and steals billions for himself, his family, and his friends, but have forsaken any ideals of saving this planet from the oncoming climate apocalypse that's bearing down on us.

As a white european, D**** to America.

[–] dil@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Well when I see yall saying "daath to america" I think maybe its good we have a crashout president

[–] dil@lemmy.zip 0 points 6 days ago

Like obviously if someone says death to my country, I hope they get nuked, why wouldn't I

You could slap that same comment on nearly any article about Trump since his entry into politics. We live in a fucking circus.

I ain't clicking on that game. I wonder what type of telemetry it's gathering....

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 62 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The link is to an IGN article, just in case there is any confusion, not the website itself.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yes! Sorry for the confusion, edited to clarify

Jesus fucking Christ. The only thing keeping me going at this point is the pure hatred towards the people who support the current American regime.

Do they have that one cool game where you play as a 15-year-old child trying to escape Epstein Island, or the other one where you mindlessly black out hundreds of thousands of lines of text while ironically mumbling “fidelity, bravery, integrity” to yourself over and over?

[–] hayvan@piefed.world 59 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is entire US of A a shitpost now?

No, shit posts are worthy of your time. Sometimes.

[–] apftwb@lemmy.world 52 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How is this even legal? They blatantly use styling and brand recognition to imitate popular brands for selling their products.

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 49 points 1 week ago (1 children)

“How is this even legal?” betrays a certain out-of-the-loopness. Trump’s is a post-law administration.

I saw their statement basically disowning the affair, but didn't see they are actually suing. Do you have a source?

Jews Out! Board Game

Force the Jews beyond the medieval walls and out the city. The first player to rid the city of six Jews wins.

With illustrations of a ‘typical’ Jewish family on the move accompanied by the text, Off to Palestine!

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

Interestingly, that game was never sanctioned by the Nazis and leading figures actually disliked it for trivialising their serious goal of ... genocide. It was a money grab product by a company that wanted to cash in on the jew hate. At least that is what is written about the game.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Yes. The trump administration with their antiimmigrant propaganda game are literally worse than Himmler.

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Clearly not in their mass murdering so far but while the Nazis were masters of propaganda that were bathing in blood, some of them at least resented the commercial exploitation of something they considered a crucial and very serious pillar of their ideology. Not sure what to make of that but it is what it is.

Gamergate was the worst thing to happen to this world

This is an abomination.

Very Christian of them, indeed. Exactly the opposite of what the bible dictates.

My vocabulary lacks the words to express the disappointment, the lack of class and what not.

So they decided that the best way to capture the attention of today's youth is with clones of games made 30 or 40 years ago. Sure, you know what, good job White House, have a cookie. Everybody clap for how well they understand the children and teenagers of 2026.

Tinfoil hat time-

They want the lawsuits. They've stacked the courts already, they'll win and as a hedge the worst they'll get is told to stop it.

They want the legal precedent from those smaller lawsuits, so Elon and Altman can just start wholesale ripping off games with Grok and GPT-6.

[–] 123@programming.dev 3 points 6 days ago

They were probably just copying the idea from "Operation Epic Furious Strait to Hell" and doing a game. These guys have no original ideas of their own.

This sounds like something out of a parody of Evil dystopian governments

[–] nullspace@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

Chuds complain about woke liberals making games, but when they make games of their own it's shit like this.
