PSA: If you build a crib yourself the gaps must be 6 cm or less, else your child can fit it's head through and suffocate. People have lost their child this way.

While you're at it, check your railings (stair, balcony, deck). No gaps wider than 10 cm, height 100 cm and not horizontal/climbable by small children. You have a lot less time than you think before that little squirmy thing is running around. The nights last forever but the weeks fly by.
Is this PSA due to seeing crib, or due to the crib in the image being improperly constructed?
It looks fine. And it's likely not made from scratch, but a flat box assembly. But it's a good PSA anyway.
Editing to add: No finials or anything sticking up that could hook a string or strap and enable a baby to strangle themself.

I do not understand my current cats. They are not mature enough to be indoor/outdoor cats. They do not come when I call them when they are outdoors, and they try to escape up trees when they are outdoors. This is new for cats for me. All my previous cats, when they were out, if I call they came running. Also they knew how to climb trees and didn't get stuck upside down like orange idiots. Okay there was that one time but they were a kitten and it was a screen door and also it did not start out upside down it does not count. Maybe I do not smell enough like cat food

Can't take that away at this point if a human child needs one you need to build a new crib.

Put a sheet of tinfoil in there while waiting for the baby to arrive. That'll keep him out.
