From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Just switched Zorin for Win11 on my kids computer (yes, it did hurt and still does 😭). His friends play Fortnite and he felt left out. Windows is the only option if he want to play?

Btw downloaded newest Microslop Windows 11, but still during installation there was a gust from the past; I had to use my other computer to download the wifi card driver, which I had to "select from disk" when installing 😂 in 2026!! (tplink ex3000). Worked flawless on Linux.

unsure how powerful your pc is. but i've heard you can achieve great performance on a vm using qemu. another option would be dual booting.

You must be doing something wrong, as tplink says the adapter is fully supported.

is what it is. Not much one can do wrong with the windows gui installer 😅 Even had to install twice (selected pro, had home. that required a reinstall.. microslop) it asked both times for me to load the driver from external media (windows didn't detect the wifi card). installed from fresh win11 iso downloaded from ms today.

To be fair, you should know which version you want to install. It's convenient you only need a single install package for either version. That's not slop, that's efficient. I guarantee you a Windows install would have installed a driver for the card and then you could have updated on next update cycle.

This could be a good learning opportunity for your kids. Make them learn to use WinBoat 😀
