Getting into powerlifting and putting on a ton of muscle took away most of my middle age aches and pains. Got some long standing disc issues and my nuerosugron told me to never stop lifting, as my thick trunk was stabilizing my back tremendously. YMMV

Muscle is the key. But it is genetic and highly heritable. Some people are born with more, some less. And muscle fiber ratio matters. Some people put on muscle easily and maintain it easily, others not so much. Proper diet, exercise, and lifestyle are vital.

With lifestyle change and lifting consistently for several years I was able to put on 50+ pounds of muscle. I'm an average person. Someone gifted could've put on maybe 10 pounds more and someone less fortunate could have put on 10 pounds less. Genetics play part but consistency is the only thing that matters

Oh, lets see the data to back up your assumptions. Muscle is genetic and highly heritable - https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4816288/ -- people less genetically blessed can be consistent and still struggle, especially the more they are up against the genetic 8 ball. You are grossly oversimplifying a very complex matter.
