At some point, the "America and Russia are having sex" joke has fully exhausted itself.
It's all just cope. Totally divorced from the historical moment. Millions of people dead. More slated to die in a hellish conflict with no clear end.

It is not like they do it of the goodness of their hearts. It is just a strategic decision for them (that might be what the comic also implies anyways...) We have seen how much they responded against Israel. Some like Germany infact went the other way.
