Reddit has this feature and I used to use it all the time. I feel like this might be the reason many lemmings delete their posts after a while. Not like you get bombarded with notifications on here but still. Sometimes I ask a question and once I have a couple of answers I'm "done" with the post. I want to leave it up for others though so muting it would be ideal.

I delete my post content simply because Reddit. They used my post history to make money off me. They trained ai off my content.

I refuse to leave any comment up for too long as an attempt to stop that BS in the future.

So, at least for me…blame Reddit.

lemmy doesn't have it yet but piefed does.
You can access lemmy from piefed so by moving there you can do it.

Oh, nice! I had the same question in my head a few times, so going to check out Piefed.

Sometimes it's the noise of tagalong comments, and sometimes it's discussing with rude or unhinged people where I really try to be helpful and polite with them but fuck if I want to get upset during my bedtime poop session by getting a notification and reading what they have to say.
