6 years but with many gaps and the first entries are all just 1 sentence long. I think the last time I’ve written an entry was 3/4 months ago
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

since 2004. Online, so I have all my journals.
I haven't been great at it, but I started a couple of years ago. I very much vary in frequency.
I journal pretty much at random. I want to do it, but I struggle a lot with habit-forming (ADHD), so it's not easy.
This year only.
Short recaps of what went on through the day, places travelled to, people met etc.
Never. I want to forget everything.
2 years, but not everyday
I don't know, 15 years ago? Maybe more. I tend to destroy all the notebooks after a while. There some level of catharsis at ripping the pages and throwing them into a fire one by one. Like getting rid of those emotions that brought me to write all that stuff and that I don't need anymore.
Off and on since the late 90s. Mostly observational, stray thoughts, ideas for designs, or writing. Intense emotional moments are often channelled into my writing.
I was gifted one of these 5 years moomin journals by my SO and started it in January this year. I had never kept a daily log ever before. I used to write regularly but never on a fix schedule. It's a lot of discipline and work!
I have been journaling since 2019. It was born out of the need to manage my tasks and thoughts at work. But then it was helpful enough to start doing it for all the aspects of my life.
Started out with a simple notepad lying around at my office. Moved to Obsidian and now Emacs’ Org-Mode.
But I still use a nice notebook for journaling when I am not around my machine or when I want to jot something urgently. I digitise it later, if necessary.
In fact, I prefer using pen and paper over my machine (which has a very, very comfortable and enjoyable keyboard), as I find it more personal, private and deliberate.
