My seven bean chilli is always popular at parties.

A bean a day keeps the dean away

Burritos, refried beans, vegan burgers, hummus (yes I’m counting chickpeas as beans), chili 🤤

Beans are awesome, as are nuts (can’t have those myself unfortunately) and seeds

counting chickpeas as beans

Wait, then what's the difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 37 minutes ago

Nobody's paying to see a garbanzo

I can’t have beans or any legumes or pulses D:

Tragic on the bean front, but there are some other good plants worth trying

If you can have wheat & gluten, give Seitan a try! Super high protein and kind of meaty taste

Quina, potatoes, chia, hemp, pumpkin seeds, mycoprotein (from mushrooms) are also worth using too! As well as stuff like oatmilk of course too

What's "beans", precious?

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 1 points 29 minutes ago

Way ahead, making a big pot of beans every week now. Currently alternating between black and pinto.

Aren't beans better for you, so this sounds like an improvement.

Swap beans for meat? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

[–] usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

"for" usually means the first thing is replacing the second. If it said "with" than it'd go the other way

Interesting 🤔

I guess that makes sense because if I were paying for beans with meat, that means I’m trading meat for beans but “trading for” means the other way so I’m still kinda confused 😵‍💫

I’ll trade you my English skills for a sac of beans 🫘

[–] usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 hours ago

Yeah English prepositions can be a little weird sometimes like that

[–] justsomeguy@lemmy.world 17 points 3 hours ago

YES BEAN BROTHER, WE FART SUPREME

Beans are awesome. Nutritious, delicious, easy to make.

[–] usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 13 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

I might be contributing to both sides of this as a bean eater and bean meme poster
