There's a reason why Chick Fil A is doing better than every other fast food company: Service.

There's a reason why Chick Fil A is doing better than every other fast food company: Service.

No, the reason is blind loyalty from Christofascist Christian Nationalists.

Every time you pay them for their bland ass chicken, they spend some of that money on torturing gay kids for Jesus, or supporting a politician that wants to make heresy a capital crime.

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

As much as you think that matters to everyone else as much as it matters to you, you are wrong.

You aren't wrong about what their owners do and what supporting them funds. But 99/100 people going to Chick Fil A just want a damn chicken sandwich. They don't think about the owners or politics. They think about going somewhere that is fast, easy, and relatively tasty (compared to other fast food places).

Blind loyalty only accounts for a very minor percent of their business.

99/100 people going to the lunch counter just want a sandwich. They don't care about the politics or who isn't allowed to sit at the counter

Racist fuckheads only account for a very minor percent of their business.

Bullshit. There's always 5 extra employees at chickfila, an extra 1-2 in the drive through alone. My order is never wrong at chickfila, I've never had to complain of missing items.

Service trumps it all, whether you like the taste or not. I don't feel cheated, I don't feel abused. I get what I pay for and move on.

It's a very simple system that so many others fuck up so badly.

[–] DudleyMason@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 hour ago

Hope you're part of whatever group they start finding the oppression of next. Anyone not militantly opposed to Christian Nationalism is supporting Christian Nationalism.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

You are objectively wrong on this one.

Most people who go to CFA could not care less about religion. They go there because the service is outstanding and people are nice to them, and no other place treats customers that way.

They can get chicken anywhere. They can't have nice service anywhere else.

[–] DudleyMason@lemmy.ml 1 points 41 minutes ago

While that doesn't actually match up with my experience growing up in the cult or my experience working at one, I'll grant that there might be some places where that's true.

In which case I hope every sorry sack of shit who thinks the cashier faking a pleasant demeanor for their minimum wage is more important than not supporting Christian Nationalism winds up being the next target. Not supporting shitheads like the Cathy family is so far below the bare minimum that if you can't just not eat the bland ass chicken then you don't deserve any empathy at all when (not if) the Nazis come for you.

[–] __siru__@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, as much as I disagree with the owners religious stance/beliefs, there isno denying that Chick-Fil-A is simple well priced, fast, decent fast food with great ustomer service added on around it. They have a very solid business model.

[–] GoldAxolotl@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

they are just not yet fell in the abyss of enshittification on the same level as others dropped themselves willingly, but it's only temporary and enshittification is so much greater than we are 😭

[–] JohnEdwa@sopuli.xyz 7 points 7 hours ago

It's not a publicly traded company.

When you notice some company being way less shitty than others for apparently no reason, that's almost always the reason.

[–] finalarbiter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 83 points 1 day ago

Still not eating the overrated bigot chicken.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 139 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

They can still eat shit since they STILL fund anti-lgbtq organizations, to my knowledge.

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 8 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

The one nearest me is owned by a gay couple. Not sure how that slipped through the cracks…

[–] Goforce5@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

I dont really understand it, but their employees in my area seem to be like, 30% gay. Maybe they are all closeted religious folk, but surely that cant be.

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Maybe they are just people who need a job??

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

I know you mean that 30% their employees are gay, but it tickles me that it reads like you’re assigning them a position on the Kinsey scale.

[–] PlantJam@lemmy.world 46 points 1 day ago (14 children)

I don't care if they still fund it or not. When somebody shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

Christofascist chicken or AI fueled burgers...hmm, maybe I'll just get some tacos.

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 4 points 8 hours ago (2 children)
[–] bashibazouk@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I mostly cook at home and only occasionally eat fast food, but as a cooking enthusiast it's rarely cheaper...

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

I think it depends what you're cooking. Of course it's not cheaper to eat at home on the days that I'm busting out dry aged prime ribeye. But the days that I'm doing teriyaki chicken bowls on the grill over rice, that's obscenely cheaper than like $15 per person fast food meals.

[–] Goforce5@lemmy.world -1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Ah yes, let me come home in between two doubles and spend time prepping, cooking, and cleaning instead of getting that precious extra hour of rest.

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago

You'll feel better and it's likely to take you less time than ordering and waiting for something to show up. If you're just doing pick up, it will save you 2/3 of the money you're working doubles to make and then lighting on fire to eat fast "food".

If you've got a rice cooker and a toaster oven I've got a couple of recipes less than 10 mins of actual work. I understand not wanting to work too hard at it too though.

[–] Mandarbmax@lemmy.world 13 points 23 hours ago

The taco guy on the corner and the halal truck down the street. I trust them with my life.

I still have yet to actually order with an AI system. Plenty of restaurants around me have them, but an employee always cuts in before I can order.

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

I got somewhat forced into one at a Rally's the other day when I was in a rush and couldn't be bothered to go somewhere else. It was a terrible experience, both because of the AI and because the food was just awful.

The burrito place near me tried doing an AI ordering thing for their phone service, but I never could get it to work. I told them that it didn't work, and they gave me the magic words to skip to a human.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

My family got stuck with one. It couldn't get the order right, kept doubling an item. Finally my kid asked for 10,000 waters and that caused the human to get tagged in.

One extra large order of the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, please. To go.

They can do whatever they want, still not supporting them. Their food isn’t good.
