It should not take someone to die and a ghost bike to be placed to get safe bike infrastructure.

I love how my city went about adding bike lanes. In the super high traffic areas there are protective curbs. In other places there is parking in between the lane and the street, so the parked cars themselves serve as a physical barrier.

Boston has been doing a lot of improvements for bike infrastructure, unfortunately a lot of it is still just painted gutters but some of it has physical barriers and separate traffic signals. Hopefully the city continues to listen to their constituents and not the very loud vocal minorty. They really need to step up enforcement, i've watched large trucks deliberately destroy barriers because it hurts their feelings, there's constantly cars parked in bike lanes with their park anywhere lights on. I hope they do some kind of congestion pricing to both reduce the number of cars and help pay for improvements.
