Nobody talks about the Facebook concerned mom groups that slowed. Making lonely trad wives feel useless again.

LETS HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR ALL THE GUYS WHO LOST THEIR ESCARGOT IN THE FRENCH REFRIGERATOR ATTACK

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 31 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That legit made me upset. All that delicious food gone to waste.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Pales in comparison to the food wasted in the name of capitalism.

It’s the same picture. Having all those freezers so vulnerable is the result of cheap executives ignoring security engineers.

Apparently there’s no large drop in disinformation bots since the data centre strikes. Yandex bot traffic does not equal disinformation bots.

There were anecdotal reports about considerable decrease in engagement with some specific far right social media accounts. Those servers did not exclusively do search indexing. Also effects can be indirect as well, maybe via impacting general business life in Russia.I think at this point it is not clear if this really had a significant effect or not on the Russian Psyops.

The link you gave does not answer that either. Engagement does not necessarily contain "AfD". One would have to investigate a large number of individual AfD accounts and the different forms of engagement over time, if there was any significant impact on any of them.

Most far right comments aren't even containing the party, they spread disinformation and whataboutism and strawmans. They reinforce rightwing narrative

How is the lemmy activity looking?

[–] THE_GR8_MIKE@lemmy.world 39 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Pretty much the same from what I can tell.

Zero minus zero is still zero :)

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

not even russian bot girlfriend want us 😭

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It's far from zero. But it's nowhere near the likes of places like reddit or twitter that allow Russian bot traffic at will because that pumps up the fraudulent numbers they then report to shareholders.

I've personally noticed less activity from .ml accounts parroting their shit.

We did it Lemmit!

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 3 points 1 day ago

The datacenters struck were Yandex ones. They hosted a lot of web crawlers, not really social media bots.

[–] Oppopity@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago

The exact same because it was a search engine that went down.

[–] diemartin@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

BEAUTIFUL CABIN CREW ❤️

[–] Dave@lemmy.nz -1 points 2 days ago

Unfortunately fediverse.observer went down about a day back. But there was a noticeable drop in Lemmy activity. From memory it went from 53k to 50k or something like that. Now you're gonna ask "50k of what?", well I don't remember. Perhaps posts or comments.

I wanted to see per-instance but they didn't seem to track daily stats per instance. And now it's all gone 🙁

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip -1 points 2 days ago

A few less tankies, otherwise the same

[–] graycube@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So this is why Elon has been so upset over it.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 35 points 2 days ago

October 11 will go down in history as the Incel Apocalypse.

[–] darthsundhaft@piefed.social 6 points 2 days ago

It's ok, I'm sure they'll fall into the real bad guys known as ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini et al.

You know, the USian companies that have admitted to hacking government entities, being addictive platforms with no guardrails, unethically polluting the environment beyond repair—and all to "beat China". 🙄🙄🙄
