Then they will wonder why stores never open back up and others will wonder why nothing changed. If you want to protest, sit on your ass at home and don't spend money or go to work for a week.

Grid lock the highway. Bring a tracktor or 20 friends in their own cars

I find it amusing that there's a lot of sympathetic comments on this post putting a face on the consequences of these riots but on the other post showing a police car in a crowd all the comments were proud of the rioters.

I'm all for showing numbers and voicing our concerns but we're just punching sideways when there's a riot. I find it sad that people here on Lemmy side with the rioters

Stop oppressing us or we will steal video games from an easy target!

[–] likebudda@reddthat.com 5 points 12 hours ago

Fastidious looters.

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 48 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

Could people take out their anger on the people causing rather than their peers? What kind of piece of shit do you need to be to not just ruin your peers life but also a whole movement by giving it a bad rep...

[–] douglasg14b@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago

Welcome to crab mentality. Humans are scared, dumb, fucking creatures, man.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 8 points 3 hours ago

opportunistic assholes, the same sort of asshole that loot homes after flooding etc

[–] AAA@feddit.org 29 points 12 hours ago

The people responsible for this are just there for the violence, destruction and looting. They use the legit protests as a cover. They don't care about the people or the movement

I don't have a Google account but I guess 5 star reviews would help him

Anarchism in lemmy posts is some utopia while praxis looks a lil bit different

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 14 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe they should be attacking government buildings.

[–] thomas@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 hours ago

They did that too.

[–] NoctisRider@sh.itjust.works 44 points 1 day ago

Funny how cops are there to smash some high schooler but not to protect poeple from looters. It's almost like they are not here to protect /s

[–] fenrasulfr@lemmy.world 11 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

At least 1 decent person trying to help him after he was attacked. The rest are just terrible.

[–] DeadMartyr@lemmy.zip 7 points 8 hours ago

Tbh the amount of bystanders astounds me, like I cannot imagine being there, seeing that guy flying kick someone with their back turned and not immediately grabbing and pummeling him.

This is coming from someone who doesnt think rioting as protest is wrong--but it's really obvious why the videogame store is being looted/vandalized instead of things that actually matter.

Isn't Zing a huge brand. Owned by GameStop/electronics boutique?

Doesnt really scream small business owner.

[–] Ghoelian@piefed.social 9 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe it's a franchise, making this guy technically a small business owner? Not familiar with zing btw

[–] emmy5482@quokk.au 1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Could be I guess. Hard to know cause they'd probably never make it public.

Though there are particular people who would refer to this as a "small business owner" and not just labeling it "looters".

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 126 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fuck that coward who kicked him from behind.

Fly kicking someone from behind, as they walk away from confrontation, is a real piece of shit move.

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world -5 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

As, so this is the shining example of protest so many of you have been insisting that Americans must replicate over the last couple years?

Can't tell you how many times I've heard, "you need to protest like the French" on here. How righteous they are indeed.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Oh come on, you are kidding, right?

Amongst all the minions of protesters there are a few assholes that just want to riot and fight and you call that

shining example of protests

Of course its not, atop pretending it is

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world 0 points 6 hours ago

Of course its not, stop pretending it is

Yeah, that's literally my point.

[–] Squizzy@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

The protests stem from underfunded schools. The US tried to sell ad space on a public execution. The countries are not comparable.

Its disgraceful to see the French doing this. The US should have done something ages ago.

[–] ieightpi@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

France, your looking pretty bad to people in the US. And that's a low bar to clear.

[–] spacegoat@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I care as much about US opinions as a pig in shit

[–] ieightpi@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Don't act like France is any better than the US. They're just as imperialist as the rest of them.
