It's genuinely insane that anyone is allowed to put that on a road

"The Over Compensator"

Do you lack a soul and meaningful character? We have just the vehicle to transport your insecurities away.

I was talking with a colleague once and he told me to type soemthig (can't remember the name) into google, and that thing came up.

Apparently there is a company, american of course that takes already big toy trucks and turns them into... that.

Their website is full of like post apocalyptic talk. Cuz you know, a giant trucking guzzling gallons of a ressource that will be hard to come by, full of electronics that will stop working after even a tiny EMP hits, will be very useful.

Fascists are all about surface aesthetics. That's why everything's about "optics" and "narrative" these days. They don't have a sense of solid reality to any of it. So they see a film like Fury Road and think, 'yes, cool. I must be like Joe'.

They have no sense that Immortan Joe is a desperate fool who has squandered the humanity of everyone in his orbit. If you try to talk about themes and interpretations, you will be met with scorn. That's my experience.

> Called "Apocalypse Juggernaut"

> Look inside

> Possibly the worst build for an apocalyptic event

Bit of a personal bone to pick, people like this make me feel cringe whenever I say I'm a pepper or have a firearm. Movies don't reflect reality, the world doesn't stop in a day, and if a single car collides with that behemoth, he'll probably wind up in deep debt.

I stopped identifying as a prepper in 2020. When it actually happened, my family locked down and did exactly what we had planned for. We had masks in the emergency kit, food and water for weeks, books for the kids, you name it. I felt smart.

Until the other preppers exposed my naivete by just waltzing outside. Whatever, fuck them, I'm stocking up for the next pandemic. Next time, toilet paper.

That's something I would have used for my game idea called "Evil Car", a car racing game, where you fuel cars with the blood of orphans, and tune them by sacrificing cute puppies and virgins to it.

What else are you supposed to drop Tarquin off in?

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In the early 80s I would have thought this was the coolest thing and would have looked around, certain KITT must be nearby. I guess some people never grow out of the toddler fascination for BIG TRUCK.

[–] crazycraw@crazypeople.online 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

on knight rider, there was a evil truck. named Goliath.

i had the little slot car set (which ruled).

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yes, I remember Goliath, piloted by what I seem to recall was Michael Kight's evil twin?? But it was a semi rig, not a coal roller.

I think it is time to roll out the ICE Annihilator 9000 to defend all children everywhere in the name of Liam Conejo.

That truck can be spotted a mile away, drawing more attention to yourself. There is a reason most armored vehicles are hard to spot. They want to blend in.

Brought to you by the people who wanted to ban games like Carmaggedon.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Agreed.

The only plus here is that things like that are becoming cost-prohibitive to drive thanks to the scarcity of fuel and subsequent price gouging, but I can't imagine the tiny peen syndrome required to make a vehicle like that attractive to a reasonable, grown man.

[–] joeschmoe@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

All that, just to never even leave the 5 mile radius around their home, probably.
