That's the exact same situation that made Marx say: "First as tragedy, then as farce".

Europe is stuck in a mid-1800s liberalism loop.

The French are amazing at riots. Meanwhile, the U.S. government is continuously raising the retirement age for full benefits, and nobody is doing shit about it. Remember the American Revolution, fighting against a tyrannical government? Yeah, we should pull another one of those.

The American Revolution was fought so the bourgoisie in the colonies did not have to honor treaties with the natives, everything else was just post-hoc justification to legitimise themselves and drum up support - Like every other war the US has fought.

Had George Washington lived today he would have been gung ho about WMDs in Iraq or some made up number of dead protesters in Iran or nukes or whatever.

Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams to a lesser degree, would have all supported Trump in one regard or another. Even Washington would have agreed with him in a few areas.

The one guy who definitely wouldn't have supported Trump would have been Aaron Burr. A guy who thought enslaved people should be freed and made equal members of society, so they absolutely dragged him through the mud at every opportunity.

My guy, the American revolution wasn't some brave revolt lmao.

It was a bourgeoise revolution, with slave owners fighting the British empire because they didnt want to pay taxes.

Not to say it wasn't part of the evolution of society, but thats all it should be remembered as: a historical event. It wasn't some heroic struggle for the working class
