The older the internet gets, the more it's like a city that keeps building on top of its own ruins. What's is your favorite bit of internet archeology if memes are like artifacts and relics?

I like Rick Rolling because the longer it's been since someone last used it, the more effective it is. It's like a zombie. It's never really dead. Here is an interesting video on the topic:

I got my kids (7 and 10) singing "Badger, Badger, Badger" and quoting Charlie the Unicorn (complete with voices)...and I couldn't be prouder.

Lol.

I sprung 'Badger Badger Badger' on a 3yr old and an 8yr old earlier today.

Not much uptake.

Will conduct a few more playthroughs this week. :-)

I legit thought that was a flip phone in the second frame, because I didn't notice the knife in the first frame...and my immediate thought was "How old is this meme if you're ranting in T9?"

It took me 10 years to get this out of my head. It was the greatest mistake of my life.

Thank you.

I had a colleague that swore her daughter was a brilliant artist, and would talk about all the funny comics she was creating. So creative! Just coming up with this stuff on her own!

Then one day she brought in some of these "comics" to show us. It was just memes. All of it, just these exact faces, and the troll face set of hand-drawn ones everyone knows.

We tried to let her down easy. Her kid was smart, at least.

(I love especially the more surrealistic sub-genre of edits, of it)

I got reminded of this meme here cuz zig init defaults to "All your codebase belongs to us"
