Bro you forgot to attribute the quote properly.

"What a piece of shit" - Altmans Mom, on behalf of the 99%

How big asshole he is ? Guy thinks that he can say same things over and over and people won't get sick of it. The product he sells is not work tool, it's pop culture. The problem with pop culture is that it shifts to something else every 5-7 years.

So RIP AI because time is ticking. Their product if it have not attracted enough people to survive will vanish in the next 1-3 years. Deal with it.

Saying that a whole generation of people are lame and then having one of the lamest pictures in the history of humanity taken of yourself, ok

Didn't this guy rape his sister?

The generation that can't find work and start their lives because of AI isn't cheerleading for AI. Huh.

Man what wouldn't I give for a chance to choke out both Sam and Dario.

Altman is lame for continuing to breathe

[–] mannycalavera@feddit.uk 43 points 1 day ago

He's basically saying he needs five more years of US tax payer subsidy before he can start turning a profit. LMFAO.

AI was cool 5 years ago. It's not anymore.

[–] moonshadow@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

I last thought it was cool in... checks notes 2016, when an innocent project to differentiate the content and style of images got turned into a big social media face alteration filter data harvesting thing. Feel kinda guilty about accidentally contributing in whatever small way that was at this point

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It was never cool. At best it was a clever parlor trick.

[–] mad_lentil@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I thought it was neat at first too, but yeah, have definitely lost interest. I'm surprised when I see people at work actually using it like on purpose.

Was it?

Hummmm....

Yeah, I guess it was cool for a few months, then it quickly stopped being cool....

[–] Martineski@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 day ago

It was cool before it hit mainstream. If you never knew or followed the space before that then it may seem like it always sucked.

This fucker should only make the news when he starts his long term prison sentence.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Never ceases to amaze me just how checked out from reality these people are.

[–] beejjorgensen@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 day ago

When you have that much money, you don't need to think like a real person any longer. You're fully insulated against regular everyday reality. And they know they're at odds with real people because of the amount of money they spend on personal security. But they probably don't realize how they're at odds with everyone.

At its best AI is a tool like every other tool that came before it. And I don't ever recall worshipping a fishing rod as much as it wants to drag me up to shore.

[–] shirro@aussie.zone 1 points 17 hours ago

It is fucking amazing that people managing huge funds are prepared to throw money at complete fuckwits like this guy or that dumbarse Theranos lizard woman. If you have money clearly all you need to do is spout bullshit and roll a dice and you make more until you don't.

What I don't understand is why the fuck we elect people who suck up to these cunts. Like we have total control of who we vote for. And we still vote for door mats. What's with that?

Elder Gen Z here, nah I prefer twenty plus you sub-sapient profligate. You can do such glorious things with CRTs, also it doesn't do things it's not supposed to technically any tech is supposed to break due to entropy.

Actually what young people want is the connection between their struggle and their achievement. It's mentioned in Heinlein's "Starship Troopers".

So, that kind of products seems to not be very tall in that regard.

If that were true, you could just wait 5 years, Sam. 🤷‍♂️

I'd say I really don't want to hear these people's dumb bullshit and it's not worthy of attention, but the limelight seems to be significantly harming them, so send it.

[–] Necrifyre@piefed.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 day ago

Yeah because they're clinging to what they thought was a world in its last sanest place to them before overzealous CEOs were preaching the choir of AI and how it'll solve everything. It's easy for them to say and do the shit they do because they have no worry, the worst that can happen is the AI bubble popping, if ever. Even if it does, they're still well off because of how much they pocketed by overpromising.

Everyone else got to watch what was once their dreams, be dashed at that cost.
