Came across this great option, coming to steam soon but currently available on itch.io. works well to play immersive VR videos on the steam frame.

It looks like streaming VR content from websites is not something that can easily be done current state on the frame. If you have VR videos loaded on a local hard drive, this app works great to view them via the 6ghz dongle.

Hope this helps someone because I was not having success with deovr or other players on steam.

Edit: Realizing this might not be gaming related but steam frame related. If there's a better community for this sort of content would you please let me know?

There's also https://embedding-shapes.itch.io/matineevr I don't know how they compare as I haven't tested both, but MatineeVR did worked with some test files I threw at it.

And it looks like matinee is open source, which is great!

There's a desktop Linux version as well, so it could also go on one of the general Linux communities.

Seems cool, but I wish there was an open source option.

Also appears this will be on Steam at some point: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5346510/Gantry_VR/

!steamdeck@sopuli.xyz is a better comm (ignore the name, it's about all Valve hardware).

The next version of Chromium is suppose to have WebXR support on Linux. Kinda mad Valve shipped the frame without a WebXR capable browser.

Not much they could do since Firefox doesn't support it either. They've been working with the dev of the WebXR Chromium fork at least, but obviously, that wasn't ready for launch.

Oh, that's fantastic to hear. I've been quite annoyed as well, and don't really want a local video player, even with good options. I mostly just want to poke around YouTube, poke around for something stupid like a guy base jumping with a 360 camera, say "that's neat", and go back to gaming on it. Having to find some YT downloader to sit in the middle of that kinda ruins the appeal, even if it would work.
