Is it the assaults or perhaps the fact that he doesn’t know anything or care about anyone other than himself?

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 66 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like he's qualified to be President of the United States

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

not enough sexual assault cases against him yet

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 31 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I thought it was just the one, but apparently he's up to 3 sexual assault cases including a rape case where he lost the case and the appeal (in civil court). Looks like at least 3 regular old assault cases too, along with some dangerous driving cases thrown in for kicks.

I don’t know much about MMA or Ireland and I could have told you that.

US should take note on this.

[–] AdamEatsAss@lemmy.world 33 points 2 days ago (3 children)

And like what, give him a seat in office?

[–] shittydwarf@sh.itjust.works 30 points 2 days ago

Only if he starts diddling kids, in that case they would elect him twice

[–] sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz 10 points 2 days ago

I think the point was not to elect our own criminal rapists, but it's too late if that was indeed the point.

He can be in charge of DOGE and legalize adding cocaine back in to sodas.

[–] UnderFreyja@lemmy.ca 39 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Wild that this was ever a question

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah, really. He's not fit to chair a bake sale committee.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

My bad - I was being pithy, but shouldn’t have assumed lol

Edit: for real tho I really hope ireland doesn’t pick that guy :(

There's zero chance thankfully. There's an initial hurdle of getting on the ballot that he won't pass (plus he's roundly considered an idiot here).

From this page:

To be eligible for election as President, you must be an Irish citizen who is 35 or older. You must be nominated either by:

  • At least 20 members of the Oireachtas
  • At least 4 local authorities
  • Former or retiring Presidents can nominate themselves

Oireachtas means parliament.

The way you be world is going I won't be shocked when he is president of Ireland.

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I hear you but nah. We're thankfully not following the rest of the world. There are slightly more bonkers people now than ten years ago but I'm hoping we'll still be the reasonable country for a long while yet.

I'd nearly like to see him on the ballot just to damage his ego when he gets about twenty votes. He's roundly disliked here.

[–] yeahiknow3@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 2 days ago

All humans are animals. But some animals are not people, as Conor McGregor clearly demonstrates.
