Mamdani: 12-pt landslide victory

Bloomberg: "Hey guys, you might want to back off this one, he seems a bit risky"

Bloomberg: "Remember that time I pissed away a billion dollars to place fourth behind Liz Warren?"

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 26 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Either Mamdani is seen as ineffective, and just another Democrat who promised utopia but was unable to actually deliver on his lofty promises. Or, more dangerously, New Yorkers get a firsthand lesson on the dangers of socialism, sparking a considerable backlash against the Democratic Party as a whole.

Slop indeed. Because it worked so we'll for Bloomberg!

I completely forgot that Bloomberg ran in the primaries.

I knew a couple of people who pulled some sweet do-nothing jobs on the campaign down in Texas. Nice work in the middle of the COVID dip. One was even a DSA Bernie Bro who just campaigned for Sanders while taking Bloomberg's money.

I do.

The guy couldn't get a better endorsement than being hated by billionaires.

Weird how all the guys who made life shit for new yorkers while getting filthy rich seem to be real upset with this Zorhan Mamdani fellow

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

His radical, terrorist scheme to... checks notes ...give New Yorkers some free or cheap produce and control the cost of some apartments, it will truly destroy our great nation.

Ah.

"Mike" Bloomberg.

The only person rated less popular than Joe Biden in the 2020 primaries. (Before the other more popular candidates took favors, endorsed Biden, and bowed out... because of course priority #1 was to stop Bernie and not Donald.)

Vote blue no matter who... wait, no not that blue.

Ken Klippenstein is the GOAT reporter for me right now. Does anyone else know any other good ones?

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

It just depends on the topic. Klippenstein seems to upset a lot of the right people in the media.

This headline is not wrong. I mean imagine if Dems actually started adopting positions that appeal to —gasp— ordinary people. I mean o my god. The plebs! Not the ducking plebs!

"They are unanimous in their hate for me — and I welcome their hatred."

Its working, in middle america they are terrified of him, saying hes a communist and will start ww3.

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

New York is definitely a power center but how the fuck is a mayor gonna start WW3??

[–] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago

The same way Kamala would have probably. Fox told them that too

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Propaganda works, but its NY that elects their mayor

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The Dems have literally nothing to lose. How can anything be a political risk at this point?

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 months ago

The Democrats have the same billionaire donors as Republicans. They have everything to lose.
