A classified US military intelligence report seen by the ABC says China is rapidly building up the country's commercial ferry fleet to prepare for an invasion of Taiwan.

The report dates from earlier this year and was prepared by members of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) for the Pentagon.

The US intelligence says the large ocean-going vessels have been modified to carry tanks and partake in amphibious operations.

How can the U.S. say China is preparing for an invasion of Taiwan if they openly state they believe in "One-China," aka Taiwan being a part of China. We need to start calling Taiwan a sovereign nation if they want to sell that as anything other than a transport of equipment to their own property.

They have a policy of deliberate ambiguity over Taiwan so they can remain on somewhat good terms with China but previous, more competent, administration's said they would defend Taiwan

Any day now...

It’s been decades of this “China is totally about to invade Taiwan” headline. At what point are we going to realize we’re being manipulated by propaganda?

Yeah, but this is the first time America's been such a clusterfuck that they may not respond. If they're going to strike, now is the time while Trump's still alive to fuck it up.

O maybe China won't even need to invade. If Taiwan ends up building factories in the US they can say goodbye to a lot of money and a lot of "defense" from the US. If China waits a little they can take Taiwan without a shot.

Can they just not? Fucking please?

Fuck Taiwan, fuck China, fuck the american empire–they can all rot for all I care, but do we really need more bullshit popping off? Can we not have one stable place that mostly just makes stuff and does a little soft imperialism?

Zero-tolerance policy a.k.a. bully and victim are equally guilty?

I understand your exasperation but solidarity this is not.

I feel bad that I don't care about the people anymore. Definitely something wrong with me. Could not give fewer shits about the well-being of the governments–and that's not something wrong with me.

I would just like one thing to not be actively on fire right now. I thought we could at least count of the CCP to be the still-evil adult in the room collecting wins quietly by just not actively being stupid while all the other governments wave their dicks around and blow each other up.

Losing empathy is not normal and is a symptom of burn out. I hope you find the support it sounds like you might need to heal from whatever you have going on irl.

I'm well aware of how I'm damaged and it will not be fixed in the foreseeable future.
