I bet Chris Hipkins is having a great day today.

The son sounds like an absolute prick, tailgating through a gate then verbally abusing a guard when pulled up on it. I'd also like to know what exactly he was doing while on the payroll.

At what point does one think to themselves that they'll help their son grift the government for $133k and think no one will notice?

Especially when said son is apparently a belligerent dick and will definitely get noticed.

The son does seem to have a lot of political skill and experience, being the leader of an organisation such as Toi Te Tiriti, so it's entirely possible he was legitimately working.

But yeah, not a good look at all.

The article helpfully left that detail out... which kind of makes it smell a bit like a hit-piece.

Iwi are relatively small too, so everyone is somebody's son/aunt/cousin... so finding someone within one's iwi to do a job is always going to be a relative.

It's a weird hit piece but it will definitely work for the racist NACT voter who already believe Maori are worthless c*nts.
