I only know how to breathe out through my butt

Wait so like they took less than 1.5 liters in their ass and didn't have to breathe for an hour?

"Why doesn't Sam have a scuba tank?".

They just topped up their ass

No, for not needing to breathe the fluid needs to oxygenated, so there's probably some circulation of the fluid needed for that, and an oxygen tank. Also, breathing isn't exactly a voluntary reflex.

I know years ago they did some kind of test to show that people can still breathe the fluid we breathe when in the womb. Figured I'd spell it wrong haha

I believe there was a documentary about it called "The Abyss", you should check it out.

The team recruited 27 healthy adult men in Japan, each of whom received a dose of non-oxygenated perfluorodecalin via the anus. They were asked to retain the liquid for a full hour as the dosage slowly increased from 25 to 1,500 mL. Twenty of the men successfully completed the experiment.

Last sentence had me laughing and thinking "only in Japan".

It's a fluid inserted rectally?

Wonder if it could be used for freediving

The doctor holding a set of bellows: "Yes."

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

I just feel bad for the rural clinics who can't afford bellows. That job must stink

Ah yes, the Traf maneuver. The name comes from the fact that it's a backwards fart! f(ಠ‿↼)z
