The FBI’s domestic terrorism watchlist is set to double in the coming months, according to journalist Ken Klippenstein, who has been reporting on President Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum titled “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence,” also known as NSPM-7. The memo identifies potential domestic terrorists as someone expressing “anti-Christian,” “anti-capitalism” or “anti-American” views. Democratic Congressmember Ro Khanna responded on X, writing, “Trump’s NSPM-7 represses freedom of speech & association, investigating any organization with 'anti-capitalism' or 'anti-American' views. I ran a primary in 2003 against the Patriot Act and war in Iraq. NSPM-7 is a greater infringement on freedoms than the Patriot Act.”

Capitalism is evil and this government should be disbanded and everyone running it should be in prison at minimum.

[–] KelvarCherry@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 6 days ago

and every business supporting them should have its leadership thrown in prison. and every "Nerd Reich" Silicon Valley techbro should be given life in prison, in high-security solitary confinement.

[–] reddifuge@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Well howdy, fellow terrorist.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 26 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

We’ve reached the point in this shitshow of a timeline where being anti-fascist is anti-American.

Let that sink it, and the let that illustrate how America can never be what it was, or was ever supposed to be.

If you’re able to leave, I’d advise you to leave. And soon. It’s going to get SO much worse.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

you're just catching up... being antifascist has always been anti-American in the rest of the world.

He will use this to arrest Mamdani, mark my words. AOC and Sanders too. And any other democratic socialist, basically.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Mamdani fortunately has turned a bit of a corner, more and more establishment Dems are being forced to recognize his existence, if not outright bending the knee.

He has too big of a popular lead at this point, the administration lost their chance to deport him or hold him without trial. They know that New York, despite whatever divisions they've tried to sow, will unify and come together if they do ratshit gangster shit to one of their own, especially someone so popular.

I almost welcome them to try. I fear more for his life honestly, but not his capture or arrest. The administration is barely smart enough to not shoot themselves in the face, but I don't know their feelings about other targets.

This proposition will certainly be struck down by judges across the country, but like with everything, they are trying to cross bridges by introducing these ideas now so they can revisit it again later when people are less likely to be shocked. As they've been doing over and over.

anti-American

Oops, the Republican party is now officially all domestic terrorists. Hopefully they're rounded up quickly.

[–] incompetent@programming.dev 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They admitted it at CPAC:

Did a CPAC Banner Say, 'We Are All Domestic Terrorists'?

Yes.

ahh yes "freedom"

[–] LogicalDrivel@sopuli.xyz 29 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Welp, lets just get this out there. Christian Nationalists are a blight on the world. Capitalism is designed to keep you oppressed and should be abolished. America has been a shithole for a couple years now but its been on the decline for decades. America #1 is propaganda drilled into kids brains to keep them loyal to a broken system.
Guess im a terrorist now.

Welcome to the Rebellion, here is your temporary pass for the staff room, we'll mail you a nice laminated one with a picture on it next week. salute

Non American here and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the reason the 2nd amendment is for? I mean the goverment overstepping their power?

[–] IndridCold@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

There is no amendment for courage though.

Americans will roll over and expose their bloated belly like they always do.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

Lots of tough talk from the other side of the Atlantic when you know damn well you wouldn't go shooting at politicians or whatever dumb and suicidal thing you seem to be advocating that we do.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 27 points 6 days ago (2 children)

views

Not any sort of action, but merely holding those views. Are we entering thought-crime territory now?

[–] schema@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Surely, the self proclaimed "free-speech absolutist" conservatives will be outraged. Any second now...

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

we've been in thought-crime territory for over a decade now

[–] skuzz@discuss.tchncs.de 15 points 6 days ago

And yet, the Patriot Act and all its evil also still exists.

This isn't worse as much as it can extend those already unconstitutional evil things for yet more unconstitutional evil.

[–] Alaknar@sopuli.xyz 13 points 6 days ago

Ahhh, the land of the free!

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 16 points 6 days ago

Wow your god must be very omnipotent and strong if you need to use petty laws to enforce his greatness.

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Local domestic amateurs! MAGA is global terrorism, it's big, biggest ever terrorism like never seen before. Could be bigger but is big.

RECORDING: "We're sorry. The American experiment is currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please leave a message after teh BEEP and we'll get back to you as soon as someone is around who still knows how answering machines work.

BEEEEEP

"Uh...hi. yeah...guys. So hey. Yeah....Canada here. I couldn't help but notice what's been going on downstairs from us. and well, I'm sorry to have to say this, but you're kind of freaking out your neighbours. So, if you could...you know...actually DO SOMETHING aboot it, that'd be great. Okay, bye bye."

[–] GaryGhost@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (10 children)

I guess we'll just take the Dems approach, sit back and let the USA implode itself.

[–] oppy1984@lemdro.id 3 points 6 days ago

The 7-stage collapse pattern.

According to the video, and he makes a good case for it, the U.S. is already at stage 5.

The USA should hold a 51% stake in every business it subsidizes. Looking at the oil and gas companies.

[–] NauticalNoodle@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

That would include all of farming. -Viva la Revolución!

Cool. This will be challenging as unconditional by the end of next week, the challenge will be correct and then this administration can go fuck itself all over again.

It’s a shame the tax payers are funding this moronic horseshit. Fuck Trump. Fuck MAGA.

[–] TipRing@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

This is a memo, not a law. It will never make it before a judge. Targeted groups won't be charged, they will instead be detained, possibly indefinitely, but certainly long enough to fuck them up. They will also use this memo to monitor communications, pull financial records and otherwise harass people. They will use the label to force financial institutions to freeze assets.

But they won't charge you.

By being corrupt, pro-facism, pro-racism, and apparently a felon, don himself is anti-american.

[–] 4grams@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Whelp, guess I’m now waiting for a call from my dad where he calls me a terrorist.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 8 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Both words have impossible definitions.

While Capitalism is essentially Oligarchist, Capital, Corporatist supremacism in modern definition/understanding, Adam Smith presented an ideal of free and fair markets leading to "perfect competition", essentially guaranteeing a fair return on capital instead of supremacist extortion power.

America as symbol of freedom and melting pot, would consider it anti-american to gaslight fascism and genocide as "America". Are other war and anti-human values, really American values?

NSPM-7's "anti Christian" edicts is also worthless, in that Zionazi supremacism has become Christofascist gaslighting of Christians. "Do onto others as you would like done onto you" (best interpretation is humanist freedom rather than a hierarchical charity empire) is a direct contradiction of supremacist fascism/pride.

Of course, the purpose of vague edicts is to kill/emprison/disenfranchise those who Charlie Kirk/Trump would want killed/emprisoned. Criticizing unfair monopoly power strengthening, fascism, or war or Trump is a violation.
