Do people really believe that opting out makes any difference? Every SaaS is a black box where you cannot check anything.

Shit, how do I opt out if I don't have an account??

i deleted mines, because it wasnt useful with the resume visibility. more useful for tech and people with a large profile. also became uncomfortable if they started asking for your resume to be easily accesible.

You know what works even better?

Deleting your LinkedIn account.

[–] cmnybo@discuss.tchncs.de 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There's no guarantee that deleting your account actually deletes your data. They will probably keep it and use it to train their AI.

No guarantee, but if we all delete our accounts, they'll shut down that cesspool and we can all move on with our lives.

Good luck finding a job....

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

YMMV I guess, but among the thousands of applications I've submitted looking for work, LinkedIn helped exactly buttkiss percent. The job search system is completely broken, and a terrible platform like LinkedIn isn't helping.

First - I love the word buttkiss.

And a friendly note - You probably meant to use the word "bupkis" which is the yiddish word for 'nothing' or 'nonsense'

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

You're right.

I'm gonna keep saying buttkiss though.
