No one joins the IDF to make money. Service is compulsory in Israel. IDF soldiers don't earn a salary and are given a very small living stipend (about half of minimum wage). These are all easily available facts.

Damn!

That is true.

How do you interact with friends, family, or community members that are military and/or mercs as well as police?

With hostility, listening and slowly disagreeing, ignoring subjects, or something else?

Personally I've simply cut contact with anyone who joined the military. But I knew very few, and they've never been close friends. I've always been more selective of my friends and anyone I consider a good friend would be very unlikely to join. I've advised a few people I randomly met again who thought of joining the military against doing so and just taking a normal job, though I'm not sure how they ended up afterwards.

If you want to affect active members then listening and slowly disagreeing would probably be the better option, but I don't feel like spending the time on that for an individual person.

Oh, okay.

From talking to them, many know by the time they are back in the states, but I know some sell out for cushy jobs, similar to university grads that work for the military-industrial complex, big pharma companies, big tech companies, and so on.

I'm more of a long-term converter of them over time.

Educating for a revolution is not easy, but I try, as well as enlightening about our imperialist ways, the duopoly, and the oligarchy.

I do try to follow this mantra, as to unite the poor and working class:

"We should focus our actions, time, and resources on direct action, mutual aid, and community outreach. If you do engage in electoral politics, do not support the duopoly (red or blue team). No War but Class War!"

Thanks for sharing your views on the matter!

Looks like some Liberals are getting their feelings hurt here.
