There's a lot of red on that map.
That's because it's one of those stupid maps that colors in districts without regard to population density. There's a whole bunch of dark red empty land skewing the perception.
This sort of thing ought to be visualized with a dot density map or similar instead.
Also why land shouldn't get to vote (I'm looking at you, Electoral "College")
Most of it is empty land.
Yeah but it's a population density map with high density in blue and low in red.
Fucking shocker.
What next, people claiming to want to protect the children giving their vote to a man whose best friend was a child sex trafficker?
Everyone by age, will become a conservative eventually.
Expectations: Wisdom.
Reality: Cognitive decline.

Turns out generations of undermining education along with heavily pushing christian fundamentalism as a 'better' alternative to the masses has long term lasting affects.
America didn't wake up one day like this, it's been a planned attack to entrench those with power and deprive those without.
Ngl sometimes I struggle to see more nuance than the right being either rich and cruel or poor and stupid.
From the article: economic conservatism is associated with higher cognitive ability, whereas social conservatism, of the authoritarian kind, is associated with lower cognitive ability. It doesn't say if left wing authoritarianism is associated with lower cognitive ability as well, or not, but the correlation doesn't exist for social conservatives either, as long as they aren't authoritarian. I guess that means libertarians.
