The issue with stuff like this is that it's going to work like literacy tests that disenfranchised black voters.
Fascists will use them to be "alternative facts" and if you answer in any way that they don't like, you'll be bared from serving.
That's why "passage not required, public posted results" is important. I sit down, fully against any sort of requirement exams besides citizenship for elected office. But this is just a publicly posted resource to choose your vote. That, depending on how it's organized, good be valid

Guess what the "right answer" is doing to be.
Should be all lawmakers not just new ones, with tests results to each question available not just totals.
But better than nothing. Better they waste time with this than whatever other bullshit their I presume gerrymandered legislature gets up to. Like making a masterbaitorbase. You know, for the kids we need a record of every adult, as defined by us, web page you have considered whacking off to.
It could maybe be useful information if the questions, answers, and test taking process are all public and non-binding.
Like, they get a pen and paper and a quiz appropriate for high school seniors. They're filmed taking it in a classroom, and the results are all public. Different institutions can grade each test.
If you want to vote for the guy who says "the president writes laws" then that's on you.
If conservatives try to make it like old timey literacy tests, it's non binding so it can't so much harm. Might even make them look bad, since it's all public.
i mean i've written a couple laws (well, a couple paragraphs of government publications with force of law. so if you've read my writing on here and ever wondered why it's so hard to make sense of the legal code, that's part of why.)
i'm sure the president has written a few laws in each administration. not just law laws that get submitted through the legislative process but executive orders and regulations and bullshit. there's alot of kinds of laws.
I'm opposed to all tests of this type just due to the history of how they have been used in the United States.
They may be objective now, but if anyone ever gets the ability to put something subjective or up to interpretation in any way it will be exploited to disenfranchise minorities

I was about to pop off without reading "okay they should make the test a pen paper, some multiple choice some essay type test, and still let everyone run, just that they publish everyone's answers before the election. also, like my better college professors, let them write a whole fucking essay after each multiple choice if they want, there's no full credit or partial credit just zero credit for dullards this damn thing is going to be a campaign document let's be real" and then i read a single sentence. i need more caffeine. or less.
also i got a whole bunch of think they are underemployed but let's be real masters and phd folk who write tests for money that could crank this thing out in an hour. two if you want it accurate. three if you want it accurate and correct.
