MODERATORS

The American Prospect reported that several Democrats in closely contested districts would be voting for the ICE appropriation. “They’re terrified of being labeled anti–law enforcement,” an unnamed source told the liberal magazine. “They want this to go away so they can talk about the cost of living more. Problem is, it’s not going away.”

Fucking useless party. They are complicit.

[–] AntiBullyRanger@ani.social 14 points 2 months ago

I’ve been calling’em Blue Nazis for awhile.

Seems their praxis meets their goals just fine.

Democrats are so fucking stupid:

  1. ICE is no longer law enforcement (if it ever was). They are Trumps roving gang of thugs laying siege to American cities. We don’t get to exist as a free society if ICE continues to exist.
  2. Don’t fucking talk about cost of living when you tried to gaslight us that everything was fine under Biden in 2024 AND tried to bury Mamdani last fall.
[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 10 points 2 months ago

they support this, because they still want the hand that feeds them,ie billionaires who also support the gop. also because they can use this as political capital to get elected in the next elections

A vote for Schumer is a vote for Ted Cruz. Progressive or nothing.

[–] AshMan85@lemmy.world 20 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Never voting for Cuck Schumer again

This is why there's an uptick of unaffiliated Gen Z voters. They don't want the toxicity of Republicans and want to avoid the weakness of the Democrats.

Been registered as Independent since 2015. I was able to choose my ballots back then so I always voted Democrat. Then I moved, same thing. Democrats may have some party members that represent my ideals - surprisingly a couple of my own State's Representatives - but the party as a whole can fuck off.

I hope the Millenial and Gen Z populace that is politically involved can actually bring unity to the DNC, but I don't have faith when there's 1 party that's an umbrella for ideals and beliefs and 1 party that is wholly unified against non-whites and non-christians

Edit: I remember when I went to Uni, a few people invited me to a couple TPUSA rallies because of some of my hatred towards the DNC. I remember telling them hell no, because Democrats are mostly too conservative for me, so anything TPUSA represents is just vile

GenX they are all the moderators on Lemmy.world removing dissent comments and calls for action. That’s who they are. Center-right, 3 houses, great job, gonna inherit that boomer cash…. Your only hope is millennials and younger.

Edit: X

They specifically said they are not the opposition party.

Which really prompts:

so what do yo do here?

I see now why people keep saying "both sides".

Maybe they wouldn't have started this if elected, but I'd they're happy to continue it, I don't want to see them elected ever again.

I love having arguments with pro-democrat Lemmy users for days before this, they're coming out of the woodwork to say shit like "Dems would never have allowed any of this!" "They're not perfect but they're at least not in favor of Trump's agenda!" and so on. (Odd that they always seem to appear in force in election years.)

I want to reiterate this all again:

the DNC has the same fucking donors as the GOP. THEY ARE THE SAME TEAM.

The pushback, the rhetoric, the speeches and stern-letters... it's all Kayfabe, they want you to think there are two sides. It's SO easy to act and pull this off and half ya'll are children who can't think outside of a two-sided narrative. You would have been addicted to WWE and argued it's real back in the day.

Flush the contents of the DNC and elect new representatives broadly, every incumbent must go.

Democrat's spines, already known to be weak, now appear to be nothing but jello.

WTF? They're concerned that voting AGAINST funding ICE would hurt their reelection? Who are they trying to impress? The 16% that think ICE is doing a good job? They should be concerned about the 84% that thinks they're going to far!

“They’re terrified of being labeled anti–law enforcement,”

Any Dem that is thinking like that needs to go. ICE isn't "law enforcement," they are feral hyenas, preying on our nation. They are the Homeland Security version of DOGE, and they are a scourge on our nation. Any candidate that can't make that case to their constituents, who are AGAINST ICE, is too stupid and ineffective to be a Representative. They are far more concerned about their own survival, than the survival of America. Primary them out.

We know that MAGA is destroying America, so any Dem that isn't actively resisting them is complicit. This shouldn't even be a thing. EVERY vote on a MAGA issue is an automatic, across the board NO, by EVERY single Democrat. No exceptions should be tolerated. This is a political war, and it is imperative that Dems be as united as the MAGAs have been for years.

Shit like this is why they keep losing elections.

[–] Dhar@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago

They don't care about elections, just that their 1% masters maintain power.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 7 points 2 months ago

i wouldnt be surprise if republicans still maintain thier seats and the dnc acts "surprised".

[–] bearboiblake@pawb.social 18 points 3 months ago

Democrats ARE NOT on your side. They are the enemy. We need revolution.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago

If the Democrats are too scared then maybe it's time to go. They've been fattening themselve with corrupt money that they only know how to give up at the first resistance. There's no strategy at this point, just a buch of headless chickens.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

They’re not scared they’re bought and paid for.

Lemmy losers: “we will win in the midterms”

[–] mrslt@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

And the non-Americans here were asking why we hated the "opposition" party so much.

"HOUSE DEMS XYZ"

Look inside

1% of dems vote for policy

sigh

Can someone better at math than OP explain to the class how many votes are needed in the house to have a majority, and compare that to the seats held by Republicans?

[–] fort_burp@feddit.nl 16 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I get that, for some baffling reason, you're defending Democrats, but their other option is to reject funding and cause another government shutdown. That could be combined with the current general strike (by extending it past the Jan 30 deadline to get the government funded) to bring the whole country to a complete halt unless ICE gets the fuck out, Trump and Noem impeached / locked up, or whatever other demands the people have of their government. This would be a fantastic use of political power to enable democratic expression and improve the lives of millions of people! That being said, there's no way the Democrats will do that. Instead, they support the Republican efforts.

[–] nosuchanon@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

When Americans ask for the social safety nets we pay for Israelis to have were told it's "Marxism"

We the American taxpayers pay for Israeli citizens to get free universal healthcare, a $400 payment per child per month until they are18 and free college.

Don't worry we get a lot out of it because they are our"friends". Such good friends in fact that they funded Epstein and ghisline to run a child sex trafficking ring to blackmail our politicians. That's totally something a friend would do not a hostile foreign power that wants to bleed us dry for their imperial ambitions.

  • Tom Suozzi (New York) $369,205 from AIPAC,
  • Henry Cuellar (Texas) $2,358,894 from AIPAC,
  • Don Davis (NC) $3,768,859 from AIPAC
  • Laura Gillen (New York) $ 109,718 from AIPAC
  • Jared Golden (Maine) $1,004,505 from AIPAC
  • Vicente Gonzalez (Texas) $266,213 from AIPAC

[–] Tilgare@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This sounds like a great opportunity for David Hogg to enter the conversation again, supporting primarying these fuckers.

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 8 points 2 months ago

Oh man I don't think we can take another Jeffries temper tantrum about how people are making it so difficult for him to just do nothing but look professional.

Democrats, only want to do anything when its easy and doesnt distract from profiting.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

So these are the dems the centrists keep telling me to shut my mouth up and vote for.
