Hi all i am new to self hosting, I have everything just about set up. I am on linux server (docker host). I am good with movies/tv VPN Jellyfin etc. For music I have llidar and slskd setup and both running. I have tinkered Wireguard and Finamp and had it working.

So i have these 2 problem/s I could do with some advice/opinions on if you guys would be lovely enough to help.

  1. I am currently using SLSKD more as I like partial albums. I then do a manual import via Wanted...this is cumbersome as i have to then add the artist etc in lidar, then go import the tunes.

  2. I have a ton of old spotify playlists for example 80s etc. I would like to be able to bring them in and automate it somehow rather than finding them one song at a time.

I hate AI but its somewhat helpful in these situations. It suggested adding soulmate (docker) that has been slightly problematic, i also saw tubifarry and another plugin.

What are your suggestions of a route to take for my problems...should i faff about further with soulmate or another option? Nice to meet you all ๐Ÿ™‚

Lidarr isn't really meant for that so you're always going to fighting things I unfortunately

Looks like mixarr is for discovering new content? is that true? It does not seem to import or pull old content. I am happy to told they do if i am wrong.

Not sure how to automate the partial album part. You might have an easier time just letting lidarr snatch the full albums and then culling tracks afterwards. You can connect slskd directly in lidarr with a plugin if that helps.

Spotify list import is broken right now, so you have to wait until they get around to fixing it. It's a big hurdle for migrating to lidarr. You can import lists from some other places like listenbrainz and last.fm, so you might be able to accomplish something through those.

Thanks for the reply, I have lots of single songs rather than albums...culling would be even more problematic. I grabbed my Spotify stuff a whilst ago as xls. I have also been using Qbuz obuz for quite a some time and have them in there .

If you find an effective way to import the Spotify lists please share!

Lidarr is not for you, then. Lidarr has a very particular workflow, and playlists like yours aren't it.

Any suggestions of what could be for me?

I use a filesharing platform called nicotine+and then curate my music manually.

Nicotine isn't just for music, but it is really good for finding weird and non-mainstream music, which is what blocks me from.using lidarr.

Import lists for adding the artist. You can see it to only monitor the specific album of that track. You can also mass import all your followed artists.

directly from lidarr Add Import List - Custom List? or using a different tool?

Acronyms, initialisms, abbreviations, contractions, and other phrases which expand to something larger, that I've seen in this thread:

Fewer Letters More Letters
IP Internet Protocol
NAT Network Address Translation
VPN Virtual Private Network
VPS Virtual Private Server (opposed to shared hosting)

4 acronyms in this thread; the most compressed thread commented on today has 13 acronyms.

ok i added soulbeet which works with slskd. It isnt bad, simple enough to setup like the arrs. UI is simple to navigate but basic functionality.

In terms of finding content it does, but its a tad slow, its a good 90 seconds cycle to typing a song title, it then looks for it, i confirm its the correct option, it then relooks for the actual file. It then bounces across to a dl list.

Mine 90% says error but when i look in slskd its kinda actioned.

It is supposed to move the file from download to my library, it does not do that, i have the same with lidarr...so i think thats something wrong in my setup....i suspect filepath confusion.

It does not import playlist (dev says coming) or multiplesongs/a list facility. so its just type a song at a a time.

It places everything in a 'singles' folder which seems to sit alongside the albums folders. which is not quite a cohesive library. When i chose to manually move my singles (due to the non auto move) it took all my content inc the albums and put everything as singles, so now my library jellyfin/finamp does not display albums. Library management is tricky...anyone got a suggested setup?

I have tried https://github.com/sirk123au/ArrTools lidarr_add_from_list.py Add Artists from a csv formatted file. with little luck.

I spent quite a bit of time matching the artist ID and i just got repeated errors - mostly around headers in my sheet, then commas and tabs. I used the csv template in the hub but gave up after a whilst. Even then if i had managed to succeed this just brings the artist list, not the song etc.
