I usually hate when mods delete popular threads, but this post does break Rule 1.4: "Not United States Internal News".

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 1 points 21 hours ago

Thought it fell under International since Proton is a Swiss company and the FBI worked across borders for the information. lol

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 56 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Because just like when she was a VP candidate, she made an absolute ass of herself, and made her boss look bad.

I'm willing to bet that her replacement will largely do the exact same thing but with better media training and less of a PR disaster.

[–] Agrivar@lemmy.world 46 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

She's being replaced by fucking Markwayne Mullin. The senator so inbred southern his first name is two actual names glued together. He's just as MAGA, and just as dumb as Noem.

[–] elbucho@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Love this pic of him cowering on Jan 6th, 2021, though.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 22 hours ago

But they were just tourists!

and made her boss look ~~bad~~

and made her boss look somehow worse

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Right? I feel like they don't understand the gravity of how difficult this is, given the givens.

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Ha Millin will be a PR disaster too

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They mentioned someone in the article but I haven't looked into them yet as he doesn't seem to be part of the usual suspects.

[–] porcoesphino@mander.xyz 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's this guy:

https://bsky.app/profile/atrupar.com/post/3mg6vitp4rc2v

RAJU: You'll concede this is war?

MARKWAYNE MULLIN: We haven't declared war. They declared war on us

RAJU: The president called it war and Secretary Hegseth called it war

REPORTER: When you walked up just now, you called it war

MULLIN: Okay. That was a misspoke.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 5 points 22 hours ago

"That was a misspoke."

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 2 points 1 day ago

Oh. Fun. -.-

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

You expected a Nobel Laureate?

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 1 points 22 hours ago

I don't expect much from anyone anymore, especially with a (R) next to their name.

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I didn't think they would be but I didn't know how bad it was gonna be.

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's worse than the little funny clip I showed you. He has also said to deport children of deported parents. The more you look, the more you'll find.

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ahh. Yeah. Thanks for the links. I do appreciate it.

I do prefer to use links so I can to have some proof of the things I say. You're very welcome.

Apparently she just gave a press conference and she hadn’t been told she was fired 🤣

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 21 hours ago

I heard she was told just before giving a speech. She had to stand up there bloviate, knowing the news of her firing was being sent out and broadcast in the media as she was speaking. By the time her speech was over, everyone would know she was fired.

Painful. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving bitch.

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

TBF Trump immediately moved her onto some newfangled program that has even less congressional oversight while acting as a money pit, so it's not really a firing...

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It was a lateral “promotion”. She was put in an unimportant box where she can’t really do anything.

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 3 points 1 day ago

Except access a ton of money and have no accountability.

[–] Quetzalcutlass@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The first thing I wondered when I heard the news was if she knew, because this same thing has happened before. Despite "you're fired" being the phrase that made Trump famous, outside of scripted television he's a chickenshit coward who can't fire underlings in person. He has to do it indirectly to avoid confrontations.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It is pretty fucking wild - he literally fires people on Twitter because he’s too chickenshit to do it to their face

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 21 hours ago

After the second ICE Execution, she and Lewandowski had a two hour private meeting with Trump. Everyone thought she'd be fired, but they call came out with Trump hailing their success, and giving his blessing.

He's notoriously easy to manipulate. On his first visit to Moscow in 1987, the Russians were so amazed at his response to the most insincere flattery, that they identified him as a valuable asset, and gave him the code name Krasnov.

Those around him know how to smooth talk him with flattery, so when he really has to fire them, he can't do it face to face. Suzy Wiles probably won't even let him fire anybody in person anymore. When it's time to cut someone loose, don't give them the chance to talk him out of it.

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 7 points 1 day ago

She's a horrible gift that keeps on giving.

[–] MrNesser@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Wtf is the shield of America

Trump knows the avengers is fictional right?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 22 hours ago

It was on the TV, it must be true.

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 24 points 1 day ago

I wouldn't count on it.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Great, now I get to be stressed until the weekend that they’re going to anounxe they want to annex all of the America’s for a missile dome.

He’s been threatening that already, but moving people and creating a project for it is a bad sign.

[–] DavidDoesLemmy@aussie.zone 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is domestic American news. Not world news.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Yes. Agreed.
However, and I'm not american, nor do I want to be, or do I ever want to visit that place etc etc, I will allow this IF she was fired.

Why? Because she's a horrible, puppy killing, disgusting bob of plastic and syphilis that deserves the whole world laughing at her.

The only thing these stupid AI chips in my phone are good for. The eye patch is 100% AI slop.

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

You ran it locally? With what, DrawThings?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Unfortunately, there's a correct way to remove Kristi Noem from office and this ain't it.

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Out of curiosity, how do you mean? the Department of Homeland Secrurity Secretary is a cabinet member and serves "at the pleasure of the president". He's able to hire and fire cabinet members as he wills per Article II of the U.S. Constitution about executive power. Is the DHS one of the protected that needs cause?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Out of curiosity, how do you mean?

The correct way to fire her would be out of a cannon.

[–] dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 21 hours ago

Into the sun.

[–] Itwasntme223@discuss.online 4 points 1 day ago

LMAO. Oh! The fun way.

Saw the theory that MAGA intentionally chooses severely incompetent women for these positions to then pin all their policy failures on and replace them with men, to reinforce womens "inferiority" in the base's minds.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is pretty hard to prove considering the administration has no competent people of any gender.

I mean, it follows his first year term playbook of "blame everyone but me"

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Breaking the chain of accountability/responsibility. IMO that's all this is. "That was the last CEO/Manager/DHS Secretary." This is a business move and nothing more.

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Alongside the announcement of Noem’s ouster,

Yay!

the president said he would tap Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., to be her replacement

Boo!
