This is not merely an implausible account of how great powers decide to wage war. It is a way for the U.S. government to evade responsibility by outsourcing it to Israel, and, in so doing, potentially endanger Jews worldwide. Rubio is validating an insidious storyline that isolationist populists have been constructing: that Israel, and those people in the U.S. connected to it — read, Jews — distort American priorities.

Garbage article.

Rubio is validating an insidious storyline that isolationist populists have been constructing: that Israel, and those people in the U.S. connected to it — read, Jews — distort American priorities.

This is 100% true and more and more people are realizing this every day. Israel =/= Jews worldwide, either, BTW

This is the part that is difficult to explain to people. I don't think Jewish people run some shadowy conspiracy org that secretly keep pressure on things they disagree with. I do think some powerful (rich) people high up in the Israeli govt and in various powerful positions around the world (private and public) use their massive riches to influence things in the favor of Israel. Your Jewish neighbor isn't meeting up monthly with the local chapter to discuss world domination. This aligns with some non-Jewish players (Thiel a prime example) who has his own motives, but sees the money in play and acts accordingly.

This isn't markedly different than other groups with rich, powerful people spread around, but the goals are quite a bit different.
