Many Americans fled to Canada to escape the Vietnam draft, and it was a noble action for them to take. Anyone at risk of draft should know their options of how to avoid it. And if all else fails learn the history of the concept of fragging.

Friendly Reminder that you can avoid the draft by coming out as trans.
This is only the first time I've seen someone call for a draft, but I've known all along that a Draft is coming. Trump and his Wormtongue Stephen "PeeWee Himmler" Miller can't wait to send millions to die, and drafting an entire generation of young potential troublemakers solves a big problem as well.
For context, we lost 58K in Vietnam over about 12 years, and we lost over 4K in Afghanistan. Russia has lost over 1.2 MILLION in 4 years in Ukraine. Trump is going to want to COMPETE will those Russian numbers.
Trump is a profoundly mentally ill human, literally raised by sociopaths to be a sociopath, and he hit it out of the park, blowing right past sociopath, and into Psychopath territory. He will see all those war casualties as people who sacrificed their lives for him. He will brag to his Sociopathic Oligarch buddies around dinner at Maralago about how many have died for him. He will brag how more Americans have died for him, than Russians died for Putin. That's how he will keep score.
I remember when the Soviet Union wouldn't let their people travel outside the country, and I wondered why not. If they want to leave, let them leave. But now I understand. If Trump launches a draft, a LOT of young people are going to want to leave America, and their needed to run up Trump's score. So they won't allow people to travel outside the country anymore, unless they're, y'know, wealthy. Their kids won't be going to war to die for a point on Trump's scoreboard.
More Freedoms to be lost in the name of Freedom. Freedom isn't free, and sometimes you have to surrender your freedom to stay free. There's some MAGA logic for you.
I have a beautiful, intelligent, funny, talented son who is smack in the middle of draft age, and he is all I care about in the world. He is NEVER going to die in a Trump War. If ANYTHING were to happen to him, I would have nothing left to lose, and I would become a very dangerous person.
A Draft is one of those Red Lines that MAGA better not cross, or it's instant Civil War. Suspending Elections, and a Third Term are two others.
MAGA can't have our children.
I hate the claim that freedom isn't free so much because it's true and always used poorly. The cost of freedom is being an educated voter, it's jury duty, it's accepting crime that could have been prevented by giving the government more power, it's resisting demagogues and fascists who tell you easy answers at the cost of neighbors. Freedom isn't free, but here in America the military hasn't fought for American freedom since the 19th century and we had to be dragged kicking and screaming into fighting for European freedom 90 years ago.
He's really putting other peoples' ~~money~~ lives where his mouth is.
Fucking clown
Show us a DD-214 or sign up yourself, I thought he died years ago
you first Rob. go fight for your country you piece of shit loser. after a full tour of duty you can come back and say this shit again.
until then you're just a pathetic clown with shitty racist jokes.
Hey, he'll get some actual laughs for a change when the little manlet who probably doesn't know how to hold a gun is sent to the front lines.
As someone who served 20 years in the US military... we created the Reserves so we don't ever have to enact a draft again. There are enough people serving in the Reserves to cover us if we go to war. It's our compromise to avoid drafting people ever again.
Heck, I joined just before the Iraq war started back in the early 2000s and folks in the Reserves were shocked to find out they were tagged to go to war first. The active duty military is already running operations around the globe; we can't just abandon all our bases and active missions to run to war. So we sent in the Reserves first to set up shop and create a stable environment before moving active duty personnel and resources to the region. As an active duty member, working for a deployment squadron at the time, I didn't actually see Iraq until 2007.
To be more precise, there are career fields in the military that are designed specifically for boots-on-ground operations, and those active duty career fields were technically the first members to go to war. But after an area was secured, then we'd send in Reserves behind them to help set up and maintain local bases and operations until active duty could eventually filter in and take over full-time.
Because we need even more parallels with Vietnam? I mean I kinda agree but for opposite reasons. The draft is how we got people breaking into the FBI offices and revealing cointelpro. Maybe a draft will motivate enough of us to liberated the rest of the Epstein files.
He has the same effect in real life as he has in movies: his appearance makes everything worse
The only argument I've ever heard about the draft that actually made me consider it was that if everyone was in the army at some point, we would look ar wars very differently.
The number one thing people hated about Vietnam was the draft. The biggest thing that mobilized the American people to protest the war was the draft. Not the death of Americans, but the death of "my Americans".
It might make us a LOT less warlike...
If there was Anything you'd need to know about Rob Schneider you'd be best to learn from the words of his daughter. How long ago was it she came out and said what he was really like. Piece of shit has always been a piece of shit.
Which of your freedoms was Iran trying to take, sugar?
The freedom to take iran's oil giving nothing in return!
Just ignore Rob Schneider. He’s not really anybody anymore.
What's progressive about this?
I wonder whether Mr Schneider can point to any of those hard-won freedoms in this, Mr Trump's second year of 4.
I agree that freedoms must sometimes be won, but without any freedoms in evidence it's a hard sell.
I can agree with a draft that starts from the oldest citizens and steps down in age 1 year starting from 100 only after 100% of each year is drafted starting from the most wealthy and going down in income. No bone spurs get out of jail free the richest go first. The “most capable” get to prove it. If you can watch tv all day you can pilot a drone in the combat arena like you can play candy crush. It will help the economy run because no one will need to leave an entry level job open. No need for college exceptions. America’s housing problem will be rapidly solved as new stock becomes available. Those billionaires will get to pass on their wealth before they can waste it all investing in AI data centers and mega yachts. No teenagers living their entire lives with PTSD for someone else’s poorly planned adventures.
I keep forgetting that Rob Schneider is an idiot
Thank you Adam Sandler for propping this guy up and keeping him somewhat famous way past his relevance....
