I had just watched his 1. Mai video recently and thought that his assessments were mostly correct with some very weird comments that I didn't totally understand at the time about Stalin. Don't get me wrong, I'm not someone who'll ever say anyone is perfect and I know how and why Stalin had real issues in decision making but it just felt off somehow.
I saw this post today and decided to watch the latest from the red pen about Western Marxism and omg, I feel like I got my eyes opened to weird patterns I have seen in the left the past year of me actually learning more about it. So much of the bullshit of "not actually socialist" is directly attributed to this group of people who say they want true revolution only if it means absolute socialism and refuse to engage or bring up any actual alternatives on how to get to it. They also despise Deng because ofc they do. I recently quoted Lenin to someone explaining a bit of economy and they completely refused my point, called me a Dengist (๐ I never read a word from him) and then sent me 140 pages to read about a Western Marxist ideology flavour.
People should absolutely be talking more about this shit, not only about the idiots who disavow any voting as "participating in the same system" or "only fighting like that" (left-wing communists) but also the Western Marxists kind who honestly won't ever do anything if they'll just blame anything on currently existing socialist countries
Thx OP for bringing this up, I really needed that
