They are allowed to leave. But due to US sanctions, flights out of the DPRK aren't allowed to land in most airports around the world. So they can only really leave and go to Russia or China. Why do you think they can't leave?
Yes and it's not like they aren't allowed. Unless you mean the border with a puppet state that still is technically at war with it.
They do already, many work in China for example.
... yes. Why in Earth shouldn't they be?
Up until some millennia ago, humans travelled considerable distances. Limiting them to a small patch of land is cruel.
Finally. Fuck all nation states. They seek to divide us against each other. Feels like i live in lemmy.crazy IRL.
There was a pretty cool study that came out a while ago about a chimp population that permanently split and went to war. One of the aggressive behaviors the anthropologists noticed was that the chimps started patrolling the borders of their territory.
Just as much as everyone else should be allowed to leave their country, at least assuming they’ve committed no crimes against humanity.
I heard a podcast of a North Korean lady that left by escaping. She said they would often go down to a border river and talk to the people from the border country on the other side even though it was highly discouraged. However her father crossed the river to help a child on the otherwise, and when authorities found out they executed him as a deterrent to others crossing the river. So it sounds like leaving is not an easy option.
Other info I reqd is you have to apopy to leave, and have a specific reason why it would be necessary.
