Dude I remember when pcsx2 was struggling to run on my computer unless I heavily tweak some settings, now it just works.

Even more amazing and jaw dropping is that I could now emulate these games on my phone, I tried ARMSX2 and it was stable enough that I 3D printed myself a phone holder that snaps onto my controller for on the go ps2 gaming.

Thank you for this. I've been meaning to try ps1/2 and GCN for a while now

no problem!

I've been playing need for speed most wanted on my phone, amazing experience when paired with a holder

PS3 emulation is crazy good as well and even PS4 emulation is getting there! It's so crazy to me that the rpcs3 devs reverse engineered and rebuilt the PSN network to the point of allowing me to play through Demon's Souls as if it was still online

didn't even know that the mockup PSN network on the rpcs3 was a thing that is amazing

Is this on a per game basis, or does any game work? I'm imagining loading up some COD (modern warfare or modern warfare 2, I hate myself...) and playing some old school free for all

I did oversimplify it a bit and it is indeed per-game. The rpcs3 devs did recreate all of the basics like user accounts and trophies but playing DS online required connecting to a custom server that was a separate project

right on, that's still really cool though!!

Absolutely! You can't ever underestimate passionate open source devs haha

That's good to know, I've entirely missed the PS2/PS3 gaming era.
