The new season, which will be the show’s 15th overall, will debut all 10 episodes on July 20. Hulu originally picked up 20 episodes of the revival. Following its successful return in 2025, Hulu renewed the show for two additional seasons, which will bring it to Season 17.

That's excellent news.

I do wish we got "full seasons" of 20+ episodes. For shows like this having more room to explore the characters generally turns out better. I'd love to see more Good Hank, his one episode this past season was great.

I hate that most shows are starting to adopt 10-episode seasons

10-episode seasons, with 2-5 years between seasons.

Luckily (so far) koth has been making them as full seasons, then just cutting them in half and putting them out. Season 15 has been ready to go since before Season 14 "aired" (a phrase which I just now realized has become an anachronism.) Afaik, they've been working on seasons 16 and 17 which they have already been renewed for so hopefully it won't be 5 years lol!

But they will all be 10 eps, unfortunately. I bet it's a demand of the streaming services or some such nonsense, easier to cancel I guess.

I don't mind it as much for tight story forward shows, not that more episodes wouldn't be bad in some cases, but usually 10 episodes is the right amount to tell a story.

Shows they are more monster of the week, or plot of the week, like King of the Hill or Star Trek, they would benefit by having more episodes.

Shows that are telling a season long story, like Severance or Only Murders in the Building, they work better with a 10 episode run.

And I appreciate shows that don't stretch to fit the 10 episode run. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was perfect at 6 episodes. I just watched The Miniature Wife and by episode 6 I was disappointed to find out it had been stretched to 10 episodes. They probably should have done it in 6 or 8.

I really need to finish the original so I can start watching the reboot. I was watching it last year but I stopped when it went widescreen because it just feels so much less cozy

All of broadcast tv changed aspects when it went digital in 2009. Not like it was unique to king of the hill.

I have watched it off and on over the years, but never the entire show. I did watch all of the new season when it released, when I finished it I started on the old stuff. I felt like I had plenty of a grasp of the show for the new stuff.

I had to look it up to double check, but you're really close to the end. They only switched over for (part of?) the last season.

Also depends how you watch the last season, after the finale are four syndication episodes.
