Feeling Good has like a hundred covers, but my favorite is Michael Buble:
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Devos rendition of (I can't get no) Satisfaction really turns a mediocre song into something special.
For a particularly recent example, I think Maphra's cover of Doomed by Bring Me The Horizon is fantastic.
Yesssssss
Basically every Rolling Stone's song as a cover is better than the original.
Pretty much every song in Elite Beat Agents. Tbf, they get a very interactive emotional buildup to each song. Some examples:
- September
- Canned Heat
- You’re the Inspiration
- The Anthem
- Jumping Jack Flash
This a pretty controversial one, but Remix to Ignition was way better than Ignition. It was nice having something so hot and fresh out the kitchen.
Kim Wilde & Nena: Anywhere, any place, any time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8_8oeGwfnQ)
Remixes are bit of weird thing, because depending on the genre the original release might already include remixes. See here: https://basskruit.bandcamp.com/album/kopstoot-ep ("Ketel (Requake Remix)" is my favourite on that EP)
I do enjoy it when the remix or cover completely changes the song's genre. Anyone up for metal remixes of pop songs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jfpsiLx21k&list=RD8jfpsiLx21k
Skream's remix of La Roux's "In for the kill" is a true classic IMO. Hey, that's the second La Roux remix in this thread!
Teardrop by Jose Gonzales, Cry by Gayngs, Dance Macabre by Ghost Carpenter Brut remix.
Nonpoint - In the air tonight
2! Drum breaks.
Body Movin remix by Fatboy Slim.
I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffany
Boys of Summer by The Ataris.
Or if you prefer EDM, maybe Boys of Summer by DJ Sammy
Tori Amos’s Raining Blood
It's fun that it exists. Props to Tori. But it's not very good.
Almost all elvis songs. Rock was to unrefined in that period.
Foo Fighters covering "Down in the Park" by Gary Numan. They take an already haunting song and make it more haunting.
