I don't even bother with reddit anymore

Lmao. The personalization is exactly what I don't want, so fuck off. Also, it's pretty easy to circumvent. I'm sure there's multiple ways, but I just go to old reddit.

If you're on Firefox, download a user agent plug in and change your your browser to say it's a tablet or windows pc. Problem solved. I already do this when their page locking pop-up started bothering me lol

This was happening to me but then stopped and I'm not sure why.

I already deleted Reddit from my bookmarks and started adding -reddit.com into my Google searches. If there was an easy way to default -reddit.com into every search then I would do it.

Read-only and not as polished as some of the older commercial versions, but https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.cosmos.unreddit/ also works. They have different access methods like web scraping. Works well enough for lurking when Reddit isn't blocking my VPN, which they seem to block/unblock at random.

Maybe its too on the nose to say so on Lemmy, but fuck Reddit right in the earhole. Their pearl-clutching, risk-averse, pro-corporate moderation-bot and tattle-tale system was the last straw.

old.reddit.com is unaffected
